  1. Of course I did, I "ALWAYS" mod my computer games I have for 15 years. The model is the petro model, so any omissions about tubing and what not need to be directed towards them
  2. "Either" way mate. Its just easier to when adding a unit for instance to make a new unit.xml file and put "ALL" of the entries for it in one file. The old way you have to do groundinf.xml then ground company.xml and possibly the container.xml and that's just the unit entry, you have to do more if you add weapons, hardpoints, special abilities etc.
  3. Naw, I don't think anyone got screwed over. Screwed over is not having it at all or not being able to "decide" via xml what the SSD in "your" game should be. Balance, yeah all games need some sort of balance or they would be really bad. I understand how this kills the cannonites, but its a game and even the movies used plot devices for balance. Not advocating this as correct as the best way, just pointing out the facts.
  4. Yeah, tonight after I come back from my business meeting, I'll be doing some changing around to the new way of modding. Once again thanks for pointing out the controlling file. Strange thing is, I looked at that file too many times, but "NEVER" figured out the proper connection, DUH
  5. Yeah, you kind of messed youself up there a bit. It might be easier to think of it in the reality that exsists. No, SW game no matter what they do to balance it for "ALL", can be balanced for "ALL". Like when I asked how strong should the SSD be and got "several" different answers. Some think its ok, some think a little stronger, some want a game breaker. What is wrong with "allowing" the user to decide what "they" feel is balance via XML? Nothing, that's why they do it. Nerds? Hmm. Its not hard, it is a matter of opening a file with notepad, changing numbers and words in the file. I don't think ppl that are too lazy or retarded to perform that should be pointing fingers and name calling.

  7. Anytime you see ppl sharing screens and code it is a given that this stuff is for EVERYONE, not something to say I can do it, you can't. I just think we need to share "ALL" of the info about the game we all enjoy. No hording here mate.

  9. Yeah, I just finish a 2:10min team land battle against the hard AI Imps, I had the ZC and an easy AI teammate. What a battle. I made the Mandalorian cost 950 credits so I could only field a few. The unit did well but not too well, I was really pleased with the way it balanced in just right IMHO. They threw TONS of lancets at me, thank goodness for the Rocket launchers of those MDU's I am thinking about more units. I added a ground fighter for the ZC and the AAC hover tank Baliknight made for the rebs, but I think I need more air battles. Their are some good anti air defenses on all sides so balance should still be ok. Those AA crawlers for the Imps are very awesome. They can bombard big time on the ground and make minch meat of any air target that gets close, sweet. Well, I'm just glad ppl see the utility of the non standard units, there are tons more in FOC. Still have not found the Force Adept info in XML, anyone know where it is, much awesomeness will follow once it is located ;D

  11. Of course! I forgot to include the full description as they are really Bio-Mercs. Not just for the mines, but for the bio-suits they wear which have a "very small" built in bacta drip that provides limited support in battle when injured and in toxic environments. Now on to the coding. Understand that they way "I" implemented this unit is just one way to do it. However, this way is the least intrusive in editing the number of files. I will highlight in red the items you need to edit to "your" specifics as they are new entries. Ok lets get started. You need to extract the Corruption_special_units.xml, Projectiles.xml, Miscobjects.xml files. Ok, open the Corruption_special_units.xml.   12. ;D It is not possible to make a game like this that will fit all of the needs, wants, desires, hopes, wishes, dreams, you get it. So, what did Petro do? They gave us XML and the ease of modding their work. Gotta lov'em for that!
  13. Well, I have always had an evil streak when it comes to producing units ;D I love the warrior spirit of the Mandalorians and I am glad they included a good model in the game. I could not resist implementing them. The Mandalorian Mercenary unit comes in a special 5 man team armed with the outlawed black market Tenloss disrupter rifle http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Star_Wars_ranged_weapons#Tenloss_disruptor_rifle They also carry black market Bio-Mines(2 per round). These large mines are similar to proximity area denial mines with an evil twist. They emit an invisible, odorless poison gas similar to the fauna on toxic worlds in a small area around the mine.
