I think FoC will definitly be worth getting. Take an already great game, and improve upon the weaknesses it currently has and that's what you will be gettting with FoC. I think much of what it will improve is/was geared towards online game play. A third faction and more units are a given. What about more maps!? I hear a total number of 40ish!! That's going to be wonderful. A ton of functionality such as replays, integrated clan matching, new ladders, and faction selection for quick match will also be an improvement. I think this will bring back a lot of "old-timer" gamers who left after 1.03 or 1.04 were released also, which will strengthen the community and make it all the more worth the buy!

I too have a love of the fanfiction section. I will continue to be more active there than I have. I was actually getting into that short story that was going on about the Rebellion fleet that was jerked out of hyperspace (can't remember the name of the guy that wrote it)!

I had fun playing with you 2 today. I don't much care for playing against AI, but it was cool to smash them nonetheless! GG's!

Ill check in the morning (CST) and see if any of you are on. If you want you can add me to your buddy list (this same name) so I can find you when I get there. Very interested in some good competition as there are very few clans on now that can run with us heh.

What time of day are we talking? I'll be on Sunday night (9pm CST most likely) as will many of my clan. We would be happy to play with you guys. If the time is right we would love to play, and what names would we be looking for?

Well I know how I'd feel if some guy who has posted less than 100 times came to my forum and started tossing his opinions around lol. : You guys are cool and I really enjoy this forum. I'm very much invested in all things EaW so I just wanted to help out in any way that I can.

As I said before, I'd be willing to donate to the cause of getting a new board system. I agree with z3r0x that if you are truly invested (time and energy) in something, you might as well spend a little money on it to make it great. If that is the decision let me know, and how much it costs...maybe $160 is lot of money to some people, but *shrug*. If you have 32 people pitch in $5 you're there. Ok I'll stop "stirring the pot", I know I'm just some noob to these boards anyway. Hope this gets resolved sooner rather than later

Oh I definitly wasn't complaining, I was just getting to the fact that I wanted to know what the end result of said efforts will be before continuing my contributions. If we are switching boards methinks you will probably have a clean database you are starting from (unless you have a programmer who can convert the data). I feel like I'm in a limbo state ATM, until the "powers that be" inforum us commoners what the final word is. ;D

Well I can't image doing too much posting until some finalization is had on this matter. Are we going to get things restored, are we going to switch to a different board system, etc. etc. But then, I suppose my opinion is just a drip in a larger pond

PHPbb is a nice forum. I use it for my clan (www.mandalorrising.com/forum) and have had great success with mods and changing things (a basic knowledge of HTML is all you need to change things on your own as the source is a modified version of HTML) on my own. Administrator control panel is nice as well. As far as the look, I have made extensive modifications to mine (found a decent template and modified it after that) so anyone can do it. On a side note: are you guys making progress restoring the database? I know it's tedious work (I have gone through that myself) so I'm not nagging at all. Just wondering if I can expect my contributions to the forum to return or if they are lost forever?

I know I am new around here but I posted many times before the crash and this site was something I enjoyed contributing to. I'm pretty bummed about losing all my posts, so I wanted to let you guys know I would be willing to contribute to the purchase of the new bulletin board system.
