  6. Just as a matter ofd interest Ian McDerrmot the man who plays Palpetine and the emperor lives in my road. Hes a really nice guy (and a good classical actor too!)
  7. the only bugs you see are where (occasionally) the CA team have used RTW icons as temps for the ones which were being manufactured at the time (@cain these pics are all from the pre-beta convention arent they?). @ At-At Controller: i think your desire for longbowmen info will be satisifed. Cant wait..mine arrives Nov 10th at my house. It will be the first time iv been up early for months.... ;D

  9. ther is some written info on the MTW2 site but not much else...there might be onfo in one of Cain's pics in the other mtw2 threads here...look through..i think there is one for the english.
  10. Excellent info...but did you know that regular use of the longbow left the user permanently deformed by twisting the arm and shoulder joints and putting a permanent bend in the collar bone... hah.
  11. Message sent (check your inbox 4 details.)
  12. Sure cain, i cant garuntee hell read it, he might just ban me from the tw forum but f***k him if he does..he is just alientating people... >
  13. INDEED!
  14. im sorry but i know for a fact that those are not longbowmen that have been provided for the demo. The video is the video that will be provided for the Agincourt in the full game which will be much bigger. In this version they had to keep size down so they reduced the proportion of french to english, this meant that if the english retained their massive firepower superiority for the battle it would be a walk-over. Those are not longbowmen which, if you watch a video of the full game agincourt (of which there are 3 i believe), and look at the unit thing on the mtw2 site, are specifically remarked as having "the powerful longbow" whiule if you pause the demo and right-click the archers it describes them as archer militia.
  15. yeah rtw2 would be SICK!!!!!! ;D
  16. i dont care about the edit button...its 2 much effort..i say somthing..people understand it ...if not they ask for clarification or they dont care enough to ask..thats fine..over and out.. (understood?)
  17. yeah well it is the only way they could make it possible for them to hide it behind the wooden thing on the map on the campaign screen until the palyer can go there (unimaginative if you ask me!)
  18. of course...there are also the rtw peasants used on the unit info screens on some scrnshots regardless of what unit it is since the CA ppl have not yet got the artwork for the info screens...look around and ull c it
  19. The archers in the agincourt demo are "archer militia" not longbowmen. THis is the case because the longbowmen would have made winning the battle too easy ps. the battle is on a much smaller scale to the agincourt game that will be found as an historical battle on the full version The longbow men in the game will evolve in appearance depending on the period. Also a new feature of mtw2 which has not been well explained is that as the armour bonus (small shield on unit card) of an individual unit increases this affects their appearance so that some units can go from leather padding visuals all the way up to full plate (this depends on the parameters set by the CA team since not all units would have had such armour historically. Another thing is that the types of armour displayed by units (especially mounted and unmounted knights) will change with the development of different types of weapon...the biggest changes will come with the development of gunpowder...thats my rant done, hope it helped ;D
  20. THat was just my "you-learn-somthing-every-day" moment...it wont happen again... :-[
  21. COunt dracula is actually thought to have had the blood complaint aenemia which meant that he had to levi a tax of a certain amount of blood from the peasants on his land in order that he did not suffer from the fatal effects of the low red blood cell count. THIs disease also (i belive) makes sunlight an unbearable pain since the skin lacks the strength to withstand it.
  22. I think the point of the americas is to provide a massive injection of wealth to the discoveror and conqueror while at the same time expecting a large initial investment inorder to develop the (otherwise useles) "explorer's guild" and also in the form of raising and transporting an army to crush the native americans.
  23. Yeah finally we can see horses who might realistically have the size strength and pwoer to carry both its armoured rider and its own defencive suit. It did annoy me to an extent that even the cataphraktoi in RTW seemed to be ridin ponies who could not possibly have withstood charging around for hours on end (just a small quibble though) :
  24. Well it is nice to learn about the significance of walls in the creation of units. It will be good to have "free upkeep units" since the cost of an army could become totaly crippling in the first mtw. Cheers Cain.
  25. That leads to the question why dont they produce a campaign demo. It would whipp up more interest as a taster and would also help them to take control of the release of software again (they might save some face too )
