  1. Bah, forgot to post that I finally figured it out, heh. Enough playing with GIMP got me the effect I wanted. Thanks for the help!
  2. Alright, I attempted that, but with no luck. I'm using GIMP: Layer > Transperency > Add Alpha Channel, but even after saving and importing, I still have the background. Thanks again for the help. I'm still fairly new at this.
  3. Thanks! That was incredibly helpful, and I managed to get the icons I wanted in game, and it went well, save for one little problem: They have a black background that I can't figure out how to get rid of. Any ideas?
  4. I've added a fighter unit to EaW, and I'd like to add an icon, as well, since the A-wings being shown is a tad confusing. Anyhow, I looked at that tutorial, but frankly, I'm still lost. I got to the point of opening the TGA file creating and adding my icon, but I'm not sure what programs to use. Someone referred to "Gimp" and an MTDEditor, neither of which I know where to find. Anyway, anyone giving me a simpler breakdown of adding an icon would be greatly appreciated.
  5. If you'll recall, I posted a while back for information on making a Rebel ISD. I got it working, but, being the illustrious modder that I am, didn't stop there. I am adding a turbolaser battery in the place of the Tractor Beam. I tested this last night, and while it worked, the battery showed at full health but appeared destroyed. Now, I assume I probably missed a line of code, or misspelled something, but I can't find it, and I'm curious as to what would cause it. My next issue is a little bigger. I created a new infantry unit, the MonCal Repair Crew. This basically just gives a group of MonCals the repair ability and makes them buildable. Now, I've had several issues. The first was that when I got them running, they reverted to indigenous. I went into the XML and played around a bit, and now they don't respond to any commands, including move and attack, and they all literally stand on top of each other. I am going to insert the text and see if anyone can see where I went wrong. That's in GroundCompaniesRebel. And that's in GroundInfantry. One of these days, I'll be able to figure this out myself. I hope.
  6. Thanks again all. I'm gonna play around with the hero idea, but I'd mostly be grasping at shadows. If nothing else, it'll be interesting to watch. ;D Did the text files already, and I intend to mess with is a little more when I get home. One more question that's more game related than mod related: If I modded in a Hero unit, would it simply appear in my current campaign, or would it have to be added to starting forces?
  7. OK, thanks, that worked, but I have a couple of questions. 1. For some reason, two versions of the Darkhawk are showing in the construction bar. They look the exact same, and are right next to each other. 2. Is there any way to make this a unique unit? For example, is there a line of code that would make it so that only one of these can be present in the galaxy at any given time, but replacements could be constructed? 3. In the interest of learning, what was the variant code for?
  8. Hello. I am new to modding and am attempting to add the Star Destroyer Darkhawk to the Rebel Alliance. However, I can't seem to make it work. Below is the text I added to SPACEUNITSCAPITAL.xml. I was wondering if anyone would mind sifting through it and pointing me to my mistake. I am very eager to learn to mod, but I can't seem to get it quite right. Thanks to any that can help me out. And, if it makes any difference, I am hoping for this to work in both Campaign and GC.
