  1. It's been a week since I've had the marathon, but a ton of work throughout the week had prevented me from posting about it until now. I normally would've started the marathon very early on Saturday, but since I had to go someplace the next day (Sunday), I decided to start the marathon on Friday evening, trying to go all night and into most of Saturday. The problem was that because I have to wake up really early each weekday (including Fridays) for work, I was barely able to complete watching Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones before falling asleep (not from boredom, but from exhaustion) for about 3-4 hours before continuing on with the rest of the marathon exactly as I had listed it earlier in this thread. So my first bit of advice for anyone contemplating such a marathon: Get a good night's sleep beforehand! Having drinks and snacks around helps too, as does having a Star Wars buddy around to watch with (though I watched this particular marathon alone). I unfortunately didn't have time to include the two Ewok Adventures TV-movies into the marathon, so I guess that I didn't get the absolute Star Wars experience. I was obviously a bit tired at the completion of the marathon, but I'm so glad that I finally got around to doing it! I've never hated the prequels and have grown an even greater appreciation for them once I saw the entire saga in basically one sitting (I remember a friend complaining back in 1999 that Episode I was a bit too light and fluffy compared to the Original Trilogy, and me responding that Episode I's atmosphere would seem much more appropriate once Episode II and Episode III were completed so that we would see firsthand the gradual evolution of the Star Wars universe from Episode I to Episode IV... oh man, did I call it right on the money back then! ). -G
  2. I just realized that not taking breaks into account, the whole thing would last about 17 1/2 hours without the two Ewok Adventures TV-movies, and about 20 1/2 hours with them. So should I split the marathon into two consecutive days, watching the first half of the saga (from Episode I to Episode III) the first day and the rest on the second? That may ease things up in certain respects, but I would then lose the immediacy of experiencing the whole saga at once. And if I did split up the marathon like that, should I then include the Ewok Adventures movies? -G
  3. Playing Star Wars: Empire at War has inspired me to an ambitious project that I've never done before, one that I'll try to attempt either this weekend or the next: to watch the entire Star Wars saga on DVD in chronological order... in one day! I've watched three-movie series' in a single day before (The Lord of the Rings Extended Editions, the Indiana Jones series, the original Star Wars trilogy, etc.), but not six movies plus extras! I'll obviously need to start early in the morning and take some break-time into account (for lunchtime, bathroom breaks, etc.), but it should ultimately provide me with the most definitive Star Wars experience ever. It'll include (in order): Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume One Star Wars: Clone Wars - Volume Two Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope The Star Wars Holiday Special (assuming that I can successfully borrow this ahead of time from a friend of a friend) Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (Should I include Star Wars: Ewok Adventures - Caravan of Courage and Star Wars: Ewok Adventures - The Battle for Endor in the marathon? If so, does they take place before or after Episode VI?) Any further suggestions for this proposed marathon? ??? -G
