  1. I was speaking about GC of course...not plain skirmish, i think in skirmish the AI has no problems...just in GC it baheve badly... Just a question to be sure, did you enable the stupid (forgive me, i hate that ship and those whines it did create in past) venator in the starbases.xml file in spacestations for skirmish ? im sure you did, but one never knows

Phez, are you aware of the fact that AI gets some spawned units like ISD ? it doesnt means it did build them, unless it has lvl 4+ spacestation above Kuat, Fondor, Sullust, Mon Calamari...if you did seen ISDs and the AI doesnt have the spacestations...im afraid that those ISDs are script spawned...

  5. Well thats helps on small maps, if you give more units on large maps, it only means the AI will expand quicker, but after that it will have to build defence for every planet...means it will only help a bit, but definitly makes it more challenging, if you for example give it 10 ISDs
  6. But the behaviour is hardcoded in lua scripts i think, no modder without proper knowledge can change it...

  8. You dont have to download anything for mod to run....you have to download latest winrar, if you have no other programs to decompress the downloaded file
  9. Just do save target as when you right click on it ! it does for me too but it downloaded anyway
  10. I think i have seen some lines wich were for katarn/mara jade on GC maps, and they had sabotage ability working the same way as boba fetts assasinate, but blowed up buildings...seems it was not finished And there is no coding for making indegious better im afraid, so it cannot be modded
  11. I dont know if there is something like that like 'stealth' in ground battles...but im pretty sure AI sees always the whole map...so you cannot hide False False False
  12. Before someone repairs it, just lower buildrequirements on space units to lvl 2 and you will see alot of action its only a few entries, and changing them takes like 1 minute
  13. yeah, because you can scale it to fit on map, but you need the map much larger to have some tactic...thats where i was pointing...map editor is one thing, but the ability to make 2-4x large maps is something else
  14. I mean the buildings would spawn only ONE unit of vehicles and couple of troops and thats all...you have those 10 units as planet garrison and that should be enough, right now, you only have to put heavy factory anywhere for free artilery you dont even have to build...

  16. What is the point of having ship across whole map ? ??? And what makes you think that in the map editor you will be able to make so MUCH bigger maps that it fits there? ;D I dont wanna ruin your dreams tho ;D

Problem of AI is this: - AI doesnt understand the "choke points" and tries to defend all planets equally in space and on ground (seems to be highest priority) and it uses ALL its credits it has for building troops/ships not saving a single penny for larger projects (like starbase upgrade) - no matter how much money you give it in start, it wont save up a single credit (for upgrading starbases - the larger the galaxy is and more planets the AI controls, the more time it takes for it to build "sufficient" troops/fleets to defend agains the player (see defending all planets equally) and so it does rarely attack - of course it also means it wont build death star, unless it has "sufficiant fleets" and the credits (atleast it never did when i played those 30+ games) - if it is low on planets, and the player is clearly more powerful, it wont save money for upgrading starbases (thus giving it option to build powerful ships) but spamcreates ships it can from current spacestation thus 20+ tartans - the AI rarely musters large fleets for attacks - the AI rarely does attack planets with lvl 3+ spacestations and almost never with a defence fleet present The main problem is, the AI tries to defend all planets equally, and uses all its credits for units it currently can build, it builds lvl 2 starbases fast, groundbases fast and then spams units until its out of credits, next day the same, so it has not money for upgrade starbases (thus more units) and spams fighters, corvettes and first frigates only... So be patient and wait till the repair it in patch...if they dont, consider this... - Play only on small GC maps (so you dont have to wait 10 hours till the AI has "sufficient" defence fleets on 43+ planets maps...) - Change building requirement on all space units to lvl 2 starbases (so AI builds them) - Do not upgrade starbases higher then lvl 2 (because if you do, the AI rarely will attack there) - Do not attack them early - Try not to beat it (build small fleets, low garrisons, no ion cannos/turbolasers etc) If you do this, the singleplayer is at least fun and sometimes even challenging..if you dont its boring like hell and you can kill the hard AI on large GC map in less then one hour (see you only have to find where emperor is...)
  18. I would be happy when all buildings spawned troopers only for the rebels (guards/workers etc) it doesnt make much sense to spawn for example artilery as they are not finished yet... And btw would it be possible for vehicle buildings to repair vehicles ? (repair bays inside) and barracks to heal infantry ? (sickbay)

  21. What about reading tutorials first and asking after ? and how i know you didnt read them ? because you didnt understood those 2 lines..
  22. If you do this, and lvl 1-2 bases will not be able to build any ships then the AI wont have any fleets, unless those spawned from those generatemagicspacedefence stuff in lua scripts But good luck with the AI

Ok tested it, its awesome just few notes - Realistic scaling of ship is nice...but not always playable, i guess the ISD and mon calamaris are TOO big..i would like to see something else then one 2 ships across whole map - Too many spawned fighters, its really a mess, -1 squadron from each IMP ship would make it better... - The Core planets should be scaled down a bit so..ie make them smaller so they are not so..well you know what i mean ! - Millenium Falcon didnt move in some battles :/ i know it breakdowns from time to time...but this........ Tested to make building requirements on all ships to lvl 2 bases, and guess what the AI did build really nice fleets like 1 ISD, 1 VSD, 2 ACS, 2 tartans etc should consider it, and making bases 3+ more expensive Keep up the good work !
  24. Making more money doesnt help AI much if it will only spam low tech units (30 tartans etc), decreasing starbase lvl requirements should help much more :/
  25. A clumsy solution would be to change... 2 ...on all space units... perhaps then the lazy AI would consider to build anything else except his usual trio :/ But im to busy..or lazy..to mod it myself
