  1. added ai, no change.
  2. so how do i do the ai?
  3. Yeah I created the faction in the xml, haven't done the AI yet, which xml is that?
  4. I'm trying to set up the CSA in the corporate sector, I tried giving them starting forces on Bonadan but nothing shows up on the campaign map.
  5. I only see starting forces, not starting planets.
  6. How do I give a certain faction a particular planet for the campaign?
  7. my planet isn't showing up in the campaign even though I added it to the locations list. edit: nevermind I had spaces in the planet name, fixed it, but now the right name isn't showing up. also, I don't think it would be that hard for someone skilled in programming to come up with a program with a easy to use graphical interface to do this...maybe even there will be an official one? it's very straight forward in modding the files, and easily accessible.
  8. I don't know, I can only see the legs of the shadow, and I don't think they match up with the model.
  9. Ya, black sun would be nice too. just having generic "pirates" is pretty lame, and not to mention cheesy.
  10. How do you get the shadows to work correctly at that size?
  11. Anyone know how to add factions? What file are all the faction XMLs in?
  12. okay i was wrong http://www.stardestroyer.net/Empire/Tech/Ground/Walker-side.jpg that does look about right.
  13. Lots of new factions, like the hutts (maybe they should replace the pirates?), the corporate sector authority, corellia, hapes consortium and others etc. each would have it's own unique units, and some would borrow units from other factions. like the CSA would have a large number of VSDs, corellia could have some xwings etc. corellia would also have a large number of pre-clone wars battleship types, like admiral giels ship, and other star destroyer esque ships. also I wonder if it would be possibe to script it so if you capture a certain base or planet, you gain control of a unit? so say if the rebels took coruscant, could they take over a few star destroyers? or maybe some AT AT's and AT ST's? Also, it would be cool if you could make a campaign only take place in a small section of the galaxy, so you wouldn't be controlling the entire empire, you would be more like an admiral assigned to hunt down a group of rebels or pirates or something. That way you might be able to expand the systems to more than one planet.
  14. I tried 4.00 as well, that's why I posted that it was too big, the troops just look way too small rapelling down those ropes, didn't look like the same size as luke at all. I guess someone is going to have to measure how large the AT AT is compared to luke from the films and apply that to the game.
  15. 4.00 is waaaay too big. If you watch ESB when Luke is running underneath the AT AT that gives you a nice sense of scale, I'd say 3.00 would be more like it.
  16. he didn't absorb them, he blocked them with a force barrier I believe.
  17. I'm pretty sure it would be dangerous regardless.
  18. Anyone that has worked with 3d models and modding games can tell you that you can't just simply convert a model to the games format and expect it to work. I can tell from just looking at the model that it is well over 10,000 polys, maybe even more than 100,000. It was made for cinematic scenes, not for playing in a video game. I suspect EAW has a limit to how many polygons a model can have in the game, probably 5k, maybe 10k. There are also probably some texture limitations as well.
  19. Regardless of poly counts that model probably is incompatable with the game. You'll probably have to make a whole new model tailor made for EAW.
  20. The Rebels captured the Imperial Interdictor Compellor and later used it's grav-wells in designing it's own interdictor, a modified strike cruiser. Allso, I'm fairly certain the Rebellion obtained most of it's Nebulon B Frigates from the Empire.
  21. I never played Rebellion, what's it like? 3d battles? I think if LA combined all the best aspects of startegy games, like RTW, Homeworld, Hearts of Iron 2, they could have come up with a much better game than EAW. As it is now there is very little depth, it's like an fps of rts games. shoot shoot kill kill, very little strategy at all.
  22. I do not like the fact that there is no diplomacy at all (AFAIK), and there are very few factions. I want to be able to cut deals with the hutts, the hapes, set up protectorates and puppet governments, settle disputes between groups like the demok and the ripublus etc also, I find that the galatic map is rather limited, it fails to represent the star wars galaxy effectively IMO, it seems so much smaller than it is supposed to be. another thing that bugs me is that the space battles are almost exactly the same as the land battles, just with space ships, no z-axis, and the locations are very rigid. I want to have battles all over a system, not just the same place every time. It's like a sandbox you can't go outside of. You are also very limited in space installations you can build, oh gee one space station per planet. LAME. I want to be able to have golan platforms and shipyards and stuff, and have some choice in how to defend them, and where to place them. I also want to be able to set up fleets and have them more organized than just all the ships in one of the planets fleet slot all lumped together. I want the fleet to have a name like 1st fleet, 2nd fleet etc and be able to assign an Admiral of my choosing to that fleet. Same goes for the armies as well, I want organized divisions with generals in charge. I also want GRAND STRATEGY, not the current go here and kill kill kill.
