  1. yes, i'm beta testing. how do i even load up a new game though, when it crashes when i hit single player. it didn't do that before i went over 4 hours. i guess it's unplayable.
  2. played just over 4 hours in, with CORE, CIS, and New Republic activated. started getting minidumps just as it was auto-saving. problem now is when i load up and after hitting single player, game crashes.
  3. i have an idea for some new factions. right now the mod lacks a good minor faction the exists outside the empire and rebellion/new republic. what we could do is create a generic faction using ships from the imperials, CIS, and republic, to represent the corporate sector authority, or whomever. since it would just be reuse of existing material, it wouldn't be as time consuming as creating a new faction from scratch, and would help fill out the game more. also, slightly unrelated, but since we have a new republic faction, wouldn't it be fitting to have an imperial remnant faction as well?
  4. well i was able to get it working fairly stable after a few hiccups and had a 6+ hour long game as empire versus rebels and cis. then i stated playing a new game with nr and empire versus vong, and I started getting minidumps. now i'm getting minidumps at the loadscreen. my version of entrenchment is 1.05 should i update it?
  5. checking in. seem to be getting a lot more lag than i did while playing 1.0E, and had a few crashes. i'll keep trying.

  7. the MK I has it's wings open in order to enter an atmosphere, the MK II has it's wings closed because it is designed for space duty only.
  8. that's not a vsd 2, it's a vsd 1 vsd 2 is the one already in game.
  9. AotR is definately the best mod i have played for EAW hands down, just a few things to make it perfect, such as proper scaling of the units. Can't wait till 1.5

  11. well that would depend on wether or not they would like you, they may welcome you with open arms for all you know. damn this game needs some real diplomacy.

  13. The Nebulon B that we see in the films doesn't even have a hanger, but it is probably likely that they could service several starfighters with docking tubes and such, probably able to carry TIE Fighters along it's neck section.
  14. I'm trying to make a new space unit, I just copied the generic star destroyer entry and changed the name, scale, shield power etc, and added text entries to the dat file, i also made it only buildable on corellia. It won't show up in game however.
  15. are the planets in this mod in more correct places?
  16. well i don't know about that, there are usually set limits hardcoded, or a certain point where it will break the game...i wonder what that is though.

  18. when do those tools come out? i remember with other games the devs promised tools but never released them.. hope that doesn't happen this time!
  19. a true ssd would never work in EaW unless you enlarged the map size, can you do that?
  20. Try using XML Viewer by mindfusion.
  21. I think you have to have a proper xml editor, I used to get the same error when I tried to edit xmls with just a simple text editor.

You need an xml editor first in order to get it to work right (I tried just using a word program but I don't think they save the file correctly leading to a crash), what I do is copy an existing planet and just change all the entries to my liking. you also have to edit the master text dat file with a dat editor, add a new line starting with TEXT_OBJECT_STAR_SYSTEM_ and then the name of the planet you want to add, like: TEXT_OBJECT_STAR_SYSTEM_TATOOINE and then you type in what the planet is called, so it would be Tatooine. You also have to edit the campaign xml by adding your new planet to the locations part. also remember you can't have any spaces in the name of the planet, must have an underscore.
  23. so no ideas on how to get my faction to work? also, I've tried to add new trade routes to the campaign xml but it doesn't work. edit: i'm not sure but maybe they are working, I just can't see the green line in between the planets, any idea how to fix that?
