  1. I'm thinking of making the Venator a Imperial Escort Carrier, deploying 4 Fighter and 2 Bomber squadrons at the start with 8 more fighters and 4 more bombers in hanger... but it would only have like 1 turbolaser HP and 2 laser HPs, available at Tech Level 1 (2.5k cost-ish, 3-4 pop cap?)
  2. ...stop autoresolve in multiplayer against Pirates yet? If we can't, I'll end up nerfing them until they're like the UN.
  3. Dont you mean the smaller, the more accurate? 1.0 = 1 radii cone 70.0 = 70 radii cone right...?
  4. How exactly does the game interpret the unit distance_inaccuracy values? Say like a ship has "70" distance inaccuracy against a corvette... does this mean that it has 70 inaccuracy against that ship, or is it 70 units of inaccuracy added? I'd fiddle with the numbers, but I'd like to know what I'm doing first! ;D
  5. Missile Weapons penetrate shielding because shields generally have two layers: Ray Shielding and Particle Shielding. Particle shielding protects the ship from radiation and objects, and tends not to be as strong as Ray Shielding. Ray Shielding blocks lasers, but is not turned on most of the time because it drains energy alot. The SW Flight Simulators choose balance over lore-canon specificity in terms of shielding. In the movies, it becomes far more difficult to discern the damage these weapons do as you never clearly see them hitting anything with shields.
  6. Adding new heroes is easy. In the campaign list info, there is a section that has the rebel heroes and imperial heroes under the respective factions. It says stuff like "Mon_Mothma_Team" and such. Just add desired hero "team," then place them on a planet in the "Starting Units" area. Tada! I'm going to try and add all the planets to multiplayer, but first, I want to find out if its possible to remove autoresolve when fighting Pirates. I fear it may be hardcoded.
  7. From what I've seen, there is no real difference between ground and space as far as unit abilities and stats are concerned. If you look at ground buildings, for example, they have "space" position values so that the Rebel Speeders dont run into them. So, I figure you could adapt Chewie's capture ability to some special "Troop Boarding Vessel" a la Homeworld 2. I'd look now, but I'm at my college. x.x
  8. From what I've seen from the files, they meant to have a "slicer" unit (Apparently, a girl) steal tech along with the droids... but was left out for some reason or another.
