It's true, movies are loosing quality and originality. Why? No one can make a movie without someone saying it's been done by someone else. Even when they do use a book or video game as a basis, they always end up screwing it over. For me with that stuff, I see the book movies to get an idea about what the characters should look like. That's just what I do. They end up screwing em over with a stupid plot. Now, most movies are lame horror movies, cheap animated kids stuff, remakes of old movies, and the rare 1% original ideas. Now, video game movies are something I'm excited about, especially the Halo movie (if they ever find another producing company for it). Right now, video games are where original ideas are starting to form, though a lot are still parodies. But just remember, just because something has a reference to something else, doesn't mean it's copying it. Just bear with it.
