  1. I have no idea how this rivalry started over these tow vary different games, its like compairing Thief with Serious Sam, they both are in the same gen but still vary different. BFME 2 does indeed have land battles, I'm not sure how you could have or even pull off space battles with a game set in the Tolkien universe. Knights and Orcs and Goblins in space!...nope it isn't doing anything for me. Or maybe i lack that certain imagination.
  2. All you have to do is program it to use camera angles of the movies, like in ROTJ. ann optional option? Ooooo kaaaaaaaay....
  3. This game was never meant to be a great game but rather a good game and hopefully a vary good game.
  4. Nice small review, i was hoping the game would get a 8.5 or higher. I hate those long ass reviews that are 5 pages long where i have to skip to the last damn page to see if the game is really good or not.
  5. Not bad. Keep writing man you will get better, also make sure to read those star wars books like X-wing series.
  6. Sorry to break it to you but i don't think there is anything like a ranking system in the game.
  7. Cool Vaders going to talk to us, i wonder if the Emperor will also? http://www.worthplaying.com/press/202/SW_Empire_at_War_148.jpg
  8. That sounds awesome, i mean just imagine what would Rome total war be like without auto resolve, there are battles that are worthy but many are not tactically challenging at all, but its good to play small battles early in the game to get a Good idea of tactics, you can try many different things when you overwhelm the enemy.
  9. Well thats just gay
  10. H'm. I view the storyline through the game, you view the game storyline through the movies. Perhaps its just a matter of perspective.
  11. Calm down, we're all the same humans with feelings. well...except you, you little green freak
  12. My favorite ship, i remember flying it from rogue squadron N64 good times. thanks buddy.
  13. It begins...
  14. It seems the only people who are objecting are those who haven't played the homeworld games and therefore don't understand the idea, first of all most RTS games don't use strategy they use tactics there realtime tactical games. An attack feature would do wonders for this game because even the developers have hinted that half of this game is about watching your fleet/troops kick but and dook it out just like you saw in the movies. Sometimes i get the idea that the developers for this game are somewhat in fear in implementing advanced features like those in homeworld for fear of the users own stupidity and to have there game attributed to homeworld which would make there game seem less in comparison. It feels as if they are holding back something from within themselves or from the game. Perhaps its Lucasarts who's the culprit.
  15. Or you could just join the military and get it over with.
  16. Thats what i liked so much about Conquest: Frontier Wars, i have a strange and perhaps misguided love for logistics especially when it comes to military history. How exactly could you make a true Star Wars simulator? from where do you base the standards? im not sure if Starfleet Command was a simulator or an RTS. If anyone wants a sense of being in command i would recommend Star Trek Bridge Command.
  17. Ahah, i feel you pain.
  18. Heh I don't blame you, it was hard enough and a bit annoying, i still remember playing the nightmare that was level 9, after 3 tried i said the hell with this! and beat the game with cheats. Yay! Conquest Frontier wars one of my favorite games,
  19. What does story line have to do with gameplay balance? There tow different things.
  20. I like the Probe Droid myself, its a cheap and handy little thing. Strangely compared to the build times of other ships it takes a long time to build for something so small. I don't care about realism, but it just feels weird.
  21. Not bad, i was wondering when someone would take action, it was getting hairy.
  22. old Soviet adage "Quantity is Quality" "The ceramics teacher announced on opening day that he was dividing the class into two groups. All those on the left side of the studio, he said, would be graded solely on the quantity of work they produced, all those on the right solely on its quality. His procedure was simple: on the final day of class he would bring in his bathroom scales and weigh the work of the "quantity" group: fifty pound of pots rated an "A", forty pounds a "B", and so on. Those being graded on "quality", however, needed to produce only one pot -albeit a perfect one - to get an "A". Well, came grading time and a curious fact emerged: the works of highest quality were all produced by the group being graded for quantity. It seems that while the "quantity" group was busily churning out piles of work - and learning from their mistakes - the "quality" group had sat theorizing about perfection, and in the end had little more to show for their efforts than grandiose theories and a pile of dead clay." Quality and quantity are polar opposites. Quality is quantity analyzed; quantity is quality analyzed. An apple, a pear, and a plum all have different qualities. They can only be counted together if their different qualities are abstracted from them or negated. I cannot add an apple, a pear, and a plum; I can only say: three pieces of fruit. In other words, negated quality is quantity; negated quantity is quality. These opposites are contained in each thing. Each thing has a definite size, quantity, or degree, and at the same time definite characteristics. All things have, at the same time, quality and quantity. As opposites they permeate each other and are transformed into each other. Food for thought you could say.
  23. Hey now guys don't forget about the FreeSpace games they are also true 3D and are extremely fun. I don't quite understand how anyone could have a hard time with a 3D environment, perhaps it was the slow pace of the game.
  24. It seems the single player aspect of this game is being ignored or under valued. I mean come on, playing as the empire and crushing the rebel scum with Lord Vader will be cool as hell. I would buy this game for the single player aspect alone.
