  1. By creating this thread you are just asking to have a flame war with the fanboys aren't ya? Keep it civil guys, if there is anyone about ;D
  2. PSN: Saracen26 PS3: - Grand Turismo HD Concept - Super Rub a Dub - Lemmings HD - Mortal Kombat 2 - Resistance: Fall of Man - MotorStorm - Def Jam: Icon - TES IV: Oblivion
  3. As promised, the guys over at IGN have released Universe at War footage in their IGN weekly Episode.. The video contains interviews from Mike Legg and Adam Isgreen, plus plenty of gameplay footage which showcases units, structures and the Interface. But to save you the hassle of downloading the 192Mb (minimum) file and looking through the video to find the goodness, I have taken the liberty of extracting the UaW part as a 23Mb file. And it is available for download over @ Petro-gamers. Click here to grab the file!
  4. The 9000 thing was an annoyance beyond human comprehension of an extreme immature level. But the balls vide was funny! ;D
  5. Looks like Bush has been playing too much command & Conquer. This suit looks exactly like GDI outfits from the said game.
  6. Which is why the terrorists have a problem with the Western world. Not saying I support what they believe in, in the slightest. But if you stand back, listen to what they have to say, you understand their primary problem. They know as well as any tom, dick or harry that the US a the big boys with the big guns, and that is a huge threat, so they'll do what they can to prevent the US from opposing their beliefs that America is a danger to the non democratic world. But they don't understand the culture that if they are gonna blow us up, we are gonna retaliate. The problem with this world is that the Americans want a world of democracy and peace, and in order for the free world to live in this peace, anyone who doesn't believe in Democracy shall be punished by death. Ironically enough the terrorists believe the same for Islam. The result is a stand off that will now never die until one side wins this war by total annihilation of the other. But since America decided to get big in their boots with interfering with countries that don't have sizeable armies for their own defence, terrorism from the east has become rife. The democratic world is scared of another Nazi Germany, they are scared of another cold war, so the result is a push for one world order if America and it's allies don't get their way. As I said, I don't support or agree with terrorist ideals. But since September 11th, this is "World War 3" and America will not stop until all that opposes this superpower is destroyed.
  7. That sounds exactly like the game I played last night.... about 15 mon calamari ships surrounding our space station, we were screwed... lol. Were you in that match cos you've explained it exactly how it happened? It was an awsome game though ;D
  8. Who cares what the pros and cons are... any team that made the proper C&C's get my vote to buying their games anyday... In summary: YES!!!
  9. HAHAHA... good one... About time a guy actually spends his own money for once. They spend it usually so good going ;D The excitement's killing me here, I tried to beg for it today, they wouldn't give it me :'(
  10. Just for the record... Empire-At-War.com has it as well http://www.empire-at-war.com/files/patches/EAWUpdate1_1.zip (19.5 MB) My own compression has knocked a whole extra 200Kb off it... W00t! ;D
  11. And Once you've done that check out these videos... Just a shame I watched these before I playe the actual game ;D http://www.dumpalink.com/media/1139826318/How_To_Freak-out_Your_Little_Brother & http://www.dumpalink.com/media/1139995306/Right_handed_Research_Computer_Prank
  12. • Corrected multiple issues with the cinematic camera. To make my upcoming review a bit fairer. I'll review the game with the patch. Then I probably will not be moaning about the camera.... like I and many previews/reviews have already. But w00t! ;D
  13. The great thing about Empire-At-War.com (The site I co-run) is that we have an RSS feed directly into the main page... and a great thing that popped up yesterday was a step by step guide to making your own Yoda! http://www.starwars.com/kids/activity/crafts/f20060214/index.html Cool eh? How about some of you guys create a Yoda and see if you can make it look better than what's on the site... Go on post up pics of your efforts. It may even become that Voodoo doll for pwnin those rebel scum online ;D
  14. So long as all the feedback is constructive... my worry is that alot of this community who have problems with it, will flame it for all it has. All I can say is that it's Petroglyph's first game as a company. Alot of the guys haven't worked on an RTS to completion since Red Alert 2 & Yuri's revenge, so there is alot of modern ground to catch up on... My point is that if many people don't take this into consideration and don't address the game constructively in a hope to make it better, then we're not gonna go anywhere here. All feedback will help shape the way Petroglyph's next RTS is developed... So people should keep that in mind. Help the guys, and don't put em down
  15. Normally after the title, I would add a load of these: !!!! Anyway, walking into work, I was gonna pick up the new copy of PC Gamer UK. It had Empire at War all over the covers, and it was screaming First UK review... I thought, well they must be impressed... I opened it up, looked at all the nice pictures and found the score at the end of the 3 page spread to be a measly 79%!! I was like zOMG!! WTF!!! PC G4m3r5 5ux0r!!!11111eveleven!! After my little fit at the fact that I wouldn't even give the demo 79% (Ok I gave it 82% but it was still only a demo ) I gave it a quick read over. Even started off a great or cool, and all seemed promising. I was beginning to wonder why they gave it this score... Then I realise that in order to review something that holds good, you praise it and make it sound great, then you throw it off a tall building.. before you summerise it and percentage it according to how well it survives the drop. They loved the concept of the Galactic map.. were highly impressed by the Space battles... and then Ground battles... They obviously got so excited they exhausted themselves... This part they called plain, dull, uninspiring and boring.... Not all in the same sentence, but any context you could explain dull in, they put ground battles as being just that... They weren't too impressed by the multiplayer either. Enjoying it, but finding that not being able to build bases caused a downfall in the fun factor. This included a critical eye at what they say is a somewhat buggy multiplayer. I don't know much more than that, I got rather fed up with reading it, and put it back in the rack. Even with the comments they made, I couldn't really see why they said it doesn't really work at all levels. The (censored) (censored) (censored) (censored) <<< did them myself.. They gave C&C: Renegade a 47% back in 2002, and now they're not entirely happy with this. I dunno whether or not they did their homework, because the only time Petroglyph was mentioned was in the stats section at the bottom which gave specs and stuff.... I'll reserve my own judgement until Friday and the weekend, and I'll write my own unbiased Review on the full game for Monday/Tuesday @ Empire-At-War.com. But the approach they took on the game just didn't seem to justify even the Demo, let alone the full game, that's what upsets me. P.S. - I normally buy PC Gamer, and would have added scans to this post... But I wasn't prepared to pay the money unless the review was over 80-85%... OK I am biased, but I don't appriciate the best RTS developers receiving such a score. Maybe they are right, maybe they are wrong. I'd prefer them to be wrong, but we shall see eh guys?
