  1. Sensationalist Veiw points never help anything. To be honest looking on here and on the LucasArts forums there does seem to be alot of with the game, specially with multiplayer, Petroglyph are trying to address these issues. I dont know whether Petroglyph were allowed to decide which multiplayer matching system they used, but third party ones, like All Seeing Eye may be an option with those having problems (i dont know if ASE supports it yet). All games start out with bugs, mainly because on release the sheer number of people using the product, find bugs that werent picked up during Q&A and beta's. i think its alittle pre-emptive to take the game back straight away. but if your not happy and the return policy is limited by time then fair enough, best thing i can suggest is to wait, monitor the forums if the game improves, buy it later on and patch it. I dont see how you can compare this to Starship Troopers, the game was poor anyway (i could tell that just from the Demo) Empire at War although not directly comparable is a better game in my opinion, and its a relatively new studio. Prehaps you should read reviews before buying.
  2. Well its all easier said than done, Planetary defences are expensive $2000 for Ion Cannons and $4000 for turbolasers, and as the Rebellion and being early in the game i dont really have that kind of cash. think i only have 5 planets bringing about ~$700 a turn (on the empire campaign i have the same amount of planets but im getting $1500 per turn. and my army size is at maximum and its not really enough so i have no choice but to try and capture planets. But i suppose to be fair being the rebels isnt supposed to be a walk in the park but i think petroglyph could have made it slightly easier at the start, id hate to think what Hard is like (im playing it on easy)
  3. Did you send Antilles with it, as he's the only person able to detect the spy.
  4. Thanks for the replies, looks like its going to take me a while to get past this, i decided to capture wayland, and i managed it, yay me, the empire of course sent a fleet to try and stop this but i managed to destroy it. obviously quite peeved by this a massive fleet attacked Alderan, and destoryed my main ship building facility, i managed to get a few defense ships clear. so i switch production to dantooine reinforce antilles fleet and send it back,(they were protecting wayland at the time. the empire failed to captiure alderan on land and my fleet arrived and softened them up, i retreated with abou half my fleet left, rebuilt and came back this time freeing the system from the empire. Im playing this on easy, its so damn hard, and im struggling to control 5 planets, i cant even get to kashyyk, i fear for my future.
  5. Its the X-Wing Y-Wing Garrison / Tie-Fighter Tie-Bomber Garrison mentioned in the blurp of the space station,
  6. Ive just been given the mission to take out the spy who is about to sell us to the empire, it asks you to escort Antilles to the system but its on the other side of the galaxy with about 6 Empire controlled planets in between, THe rebel alliance only control 4 planets so far. Any idea's how you do this apart from waiting and building a massive space fleet? the empire are taking planets left right and centre around me.
  7. As far as im aware the US release dat is the 15th and the UK/European release date is the 17th (a friday, becuase they like to compile charts or some excuse). so its a near worldwide release, i would have thought the game would be in mass production by now, considering its only two weeks away now and they have to ship the units all over the world, probably by ship.
  8. Firstly does your Motherboard support AGP 8x, as i couldnt find out if the All in Wonder Radeon 9000 was AGP 8x. Secondly there is also an ati card available for the same budget (a Sapphire X700 Pro 128mb - AGP) but im unsure how that compares to the 6600 GT from Nvidia. no i tell a lie it would seem that the Nvidia has the edge over it so id plumb for that one, Thirdly you may see a boost in performance from adding another stick of 512mb RAM, if you get this graphics card, you may find that it might look gorgeous but there isnt enough power to process the graphics and consequently you'll get slowed down. its something to consider. at the end of the day it comes down to not being able to upgade anymore and having to get a whole new system, if financial viable. i tend to try and buy parts that have future proofing, and salvage bits from the previous system, in order to keep costs down.
  9. i hope not i live in the UK i wont to go to sleep
  10. a massive 7% for me woo
  11. Terradyn, the demo was first released on a rate-limited gamespot server (i was getting 10kbs) that got hammered with requests and load, then the download.com link was found they are now switching to that ive gone from about 56kb/s to 36kb/s, as more and more people jump onto that server, still nothing from fileplanet, but generally fileplanet seem to update once a day
  12. Yes thats true, but torrents require other people to have the file, or atleast have the same amount or more of the file, and no one has it yet, so its gonna be very slow for you.
  13. why on earth they didnt release it to all the major sites a few days ago and then released it without giving a specific time, server load would have been reduced
  14. you deleted my link so no
  15. it would have been stupid if they had only released it to Gamespot lol, fortunatly it looks like they havent, still not up on fileplanet but is from download.com Dont understand why the demo is so large, 751mb seems alot for an demo specially a RTS
