They could always release the "release date" for the demo on Friday, but with the release date being "Friday". At least we all wish that. If they think that were not going to be disappointed, that means that either the release date is Friday, or very soon afterwards. Darn, my excitement that had died down back in mid-December is now start to well up again! I hope it doesant get crushed this time as well.

Well, I know for a fact that I'll be running it no matter what. Even the PC at my grandparents house will run it, and they have a 2.4 Ghz Intel P4, 512MB RAM, and a 64MB Intel Integrated video card! So I'm set system wise. A good piece of mind so I can play the demo before I get "my" PC a month from now.

Yea the chicken metor shower was halarious. I dont know of any cheats for it, but I doubt that I will use any. In Rome Total War, I made the mistake of giving myself over a billion $$$ in money, which destroyed the tactical mindset of the Campaign building and economy for me. So in EaW, I'm not going to mess with it. If I dont learn how to make a good economy, etc, then I wont win the 1v1 Galactic Battles online!

I agree on this one as well. What is the release date of the demo? Please dont fly around the topic with, "It has yet to be thought of", yes you have thought of it so please, give us our candy... your dangling it just out of our hands reach, like keeping candy from a baby in a buggy, its just not right.

I personally do not care that the main game release date has been pushed back. However, I really wish that they would at least give us the demo release date; our pain needs to be eased with at least that.
-
Oh many that's some funny stuff!

Yea, I just finished mine this week. I had three (all of the hardest) on Wednesday, and the remaining two on Friday. I'm currently going to college, so they werent that easy, but werent too hard either. It all depends on how well you studied for the regular tests during the months, and how well you reviewed that material prior to the final.

Got some nice over-time this week (regular pay, plus half of it, plus the extra hours). Tomorrow starts a new week, but I'll be getting as much if not more overtime (5-10 hours) this week. I should have my PC even sooner with this un-anticipated cash. Plus, the Christmas money could easily be $100 more than anticipated, pushing me even closer to my absoloute goal! Man, the excitement and reality of it is starting to set it... at last, I am about to finally get what I have waited over five years for... its almost driving me nuts!

I'm working over 40+ hours a week right now for a month (while out from college). Then its back to part-time. I'm using the family PC right now (mentioned in a previous topic), which I get about 30 minutes to an hour to use every two days since my father is obssessed with eBay. I used to get all the time I wanted, but now, hes ALWAYS on. Why I'm getting "my own" very soon.
-
Not really bud, I just want the demo itself.
-
I've waited a few years already; so I'm worn down of the wait. But this week, I've worked over 44 hours (over time! [more pay on overtime hours than regular]), and next week I work around 50 hours. The $400 is now avaliable to me that wasent, so... things are looking pretty sweet. I might be able to get the PC even sooner than expected! But of course, I do need to add in the costs of a PC desk, and a router to give me some of our high speed internet.

I plan to name one of my Capital ships, "Space Ball I". Your thoughts? P.S. -- If you havent sceen Space Balls, the movie, dont reply.

Man waiting sucks, especially when your finally, after so long, close to your goal. I'll have over $1,700 in three weeks. If I do something else, an additonal $105 may be added, requiring two more weeks to equal five weeks. Or, if I am able to do somthing else, I can get an additional $500, meaning that there would be no more waiting, in three weeks I could purchase my PC! Man, years of never having my "own personal PC" has sucked. I'm now going to be able to game like there is no tomorrow, aside of college studies, work, and my personal life of course. Even still, much more time than the pathetic nothing I am getting now. PC Specs: AMD Athlon 4000+ 2GB Corsair XMS High Performance RAM (changed it from Kingston, too pricey) Nvidia 7800 GT 256MB PCI Express Asus 8AN SLI nForce 4 motherboard (for future SLI video) Super Alien See-Thru 500watt PSU Turbo X-Dreamer II Case Microsoft Intelli Optical Mouse The main specs. I still do not decided on a good monitor. Any suggestions for a good monitor? And this keyboard I want to order, it'll go with the blue LED's that will be all over my case, inside and out. http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/eclipse.htm

Your just not going to get the performance that you would have got if you went with a PC, especially for the price. I was considering getting an XPS Gen 2, with a 6800 Ultra (before they had 7800's), but thank the lord I did not! That would have been $3,000 practically wasted. My PC that I'm customizing will cost me around $1,800, and it will beat any laptop out there. Compare the prices and the performance differences, then ask yourself, "Is simple mobility worth all of that wasted money and poor graphics?"
-
Forget the laptop. You can get yourself for just under $2,000 a very high-end system with 2GB RAM, AMD 4000+ 64-bit, 7800 GTX/or GT, etc. Dont settle for less!
-
I know plenty about video cards. I just want to know what you would choose if you had the option. I know what I am going to be getting.
-
If it means having a "decent and reliable" multiplayer, than yes, I would wait three months for it. We can play the demo plenty until then.
-
I'm just curious, but what would you prefer to have on your PC. Two 6600's on SLI, or one 7800 GT? I'm getting the GT, but curious as to what you guys would get. Plus there isnt that many fresh topics floating around.

So, I have to capture Kashyyk now. Oh well, just another world to invade.
-
GameSpy was terrible for BF1942 for me. I just quit going to it and used the ingame features to access servers. I truely hope that they do not use GameSpy... that will be one BIG mistake.
-
It will cost me around $2,000 in the end. But the starting PC, the one before the extra add-on upgrades, will run me around $1,600. I might shave off a few more bucks by getting a couple parts from other places instead of the main place I'm going to.
-
I do not want a dual-core for now. The price differences between the 4000+ and a better dual-core is too much for me at the moment. However, the processor will be a 939-pin, so I can upgrade later on as you've said. I am getting a lot of my things from newegg; just so you know that I am well aware of that website; nice deals there.
-
I will, but I wont get my PC for another month to 1 1/2 months max. The demo is supposed to be out this month, so I'll be playing it on my families PC at the start, which it has: AMD Athlon 64-bit 3400+ 1GB RAM (dont know the brand) ATI Radeon X700 Pro 256MB PCI Express OnBoard Audio Though I do like its 19in. LCD monitor, its keyboard, and its mouse. Also, that X700 survived a direct lightening bolt blast to the house, which fried the other PC we had, which was a AMD Athlon 3200+, 1GB RAM, and X700 Pro. So far its has seemed to work just fine for the past two months.

Just getting some other peoples opinions... though I already practically know them! I'm currently working as much as I can at my job, aside of studying for college finals which are this week, to build my own personal PC, just for "me", not anyone else in the house. (its hard to find time when multiple people want on a PC and you have only a small window of oppertunity that you can use it!) So, I'm going to construct my PC to be a nice little smooth machine. What is your opinions and possibly any suggestions? Case: Turbo X-Dreamer Case (Black) Processor: AMD Athlon 64-Bit 4000+ Motherboard: ASUS A8N SLI Deluxe nForce4 SLI Chipset RAM: 1024MB (1GB) Kingston Hyper-X High Performance Memory w/ Heat Spreader Video Card: NVIDIA Geforce 7800 GT 256MB 16X PCI Express Video Card HardDrive: 160GB Hitachi Drive 1: 16X DVD±R/±RW + CD-R/RW DRIVE DUAL LAYER Drive 2: SONY 52X CD-ROM PSU: Super Alien 500-Watt See-Through Power Supply OS: XP Home Mouse: Unsure, but Optical, wired, and I have two in mind right now This is just the starting off PC. I will have a 19in. monitor as well as two additional speakers. These are the upgrades that I will be doing after I get this PC in a month: An additional 7800 GT, but possibly a 7800 GTX 512MB PCI:E, and I'll just sell the 7800 GT. The SLI motherboard is just so in the future, I can add an additional card, but for now just one 7800 GT will be very plentiful. Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS. RAM upgrade to 2GB of Kingston Hyper-X A PCI Ethernet card, instead of "onboard". Those are just the later upgrades that I'll do after I get my PC. I would just wait and get it all in one package, but I want my PC as soon as possible for reasons that I wont bor you with here, but one does include being able to play the EaW demo to my hearts content! So, how do you guys feel about this machine I'm going to put together?

That's the thing, I have updated already to Flash 8, and it still will not load up on Mozilla or Internet Explorer... Or on any of the PC's that I have access to here at my house, and at college.
