  1. Is someone going to do a copy and paste for those of us that cant view it? If so...where will it be? (i am at work and would love to see the info) Thanks!
  2. Kashyyyk. I want the wooks on my side
  3. *Tackles the next poster to post in this thread making me think there are some newer pics that came out*
  4. But wasnt it said that every planet will have both space and a land portion (even if it is on platforms). I remember that comment over and over through alot of interviews.
  5. I would venture to guess that some of your equipment/vehicles will only be useable on certain environments. For example... Say we have mon cal in the game. It is mostly a water planet. I would venture to guess that alot of your vehicles will need to be water based. I cant imagine that you would just be able to drop an AT-ST or an AT-AT in an area such as that unless the land is condusive to that equipment/vehicle. I can imagine that Bespin will be based above the surface of the planet and you will see alot of atmospheric flight along with alot of closed combat type of fighting.
  6. I wouldnt go that far...but I have definately been around the block with that game I honestly dont think my voice would matter anymore though...even though I have done so much with that game. The initial dev team is all but gone and the corporate mentality took over long ago. It isnt about the starwars fans (in my opinion)...it is about whatever they could do to make a bit more money. Folks like Quid, Xahn, Holo, Q-3PO...all the names of old (if you remember any of them) probably would have listenend alot better then the current team does even though it was that team that got pressured to release it to early when it wasnt ready. Overall I really feel that their connection to us "Oldtimers" was lost when they tried to push out total package around the time of Episode 3. You could clearly see at that point that they were focusing on a new playerbase and not the old. But I will always have some killer memories about the game and the initial testing....every saturday we had focus groups. Really simple things but they were a blast. Ex) go take a partner..walk away from the group (didnt even have buildings up yet at this point)...go and test emotes with them...smiling, flexing, hugging...and see if they all worked. I remember the first time we even saw a dev standing there with a gun. They guy was a rodian with a rifle. About 30 of us just stood there in awe asking if we could see him shoot it He told us if we didnt move and keep testing he would shoot us. It was fun then...but it lost alot over the last two years. It is ashame...it could have been sooo much more.
  7. Do you have a URL for it? I am curious to see it as well.
  8. Going to be fun regardless. I am just enjoying the possibility that we might see Luke as a pretty minor character in this game (if he is in). Makes it very compelling when you think that someone like Porking, Biggs, Jansen and Red leader could be much more valuable then the Iconic Luke (at least during a certain time of the War).
  9. Actually, since we know Kyle Katarn will be a playable hero, the timeline has to go from after Episode III to after Episode VI. Welcome to the forums. Thanks for the welcome! But also....just remember Kyle was around before Luke was in the rebellion...he was one of the rebels that helped retrieve the plans for the DeathStar. Wasnt that the story of Star Wars Dark Forces? Those were the plans that Leia eventually carry in ANH.
  10. I have been apart of SWG for a Looooong time. I was one of the first 100 beta testers for the game. Followed it 2.5 years prior to the release...played day 1...tested JTL...tested Rage of the Wooks...Tested the Combat upgrade. Recently I flew the coup with no desire to ever return. Those devs (not the original devs that started the game) lost touch with the playerbase. I was shocked and almost laughing hysterically when I read about this new expansion....especially since they told everyone just a few weeks prior that their focus was to fix the bugs and limit the content that was to be coming down the pipeline. They always respond with "we have multiple teams working on mulitple parts of the game".....Expansions...Bugs...Content. Why not throw them all together for 3 months to fix the entire thing all together instead of having teams all over the place making more and more mistakes that hurt the community. The money they could have made far exceeds the amount they would make off a bad expansion. They will even try to sell this for the same price as Rage of the Wooks and their will be 1/3 less content since Mustafar will only be a planet with 50 missions...no space zone at all for it. I now play Yahoo Pool while I am waiting for Battlefront 2 and Empire at War
  11. My name is Ric and I am in Pennsylvania. I am 31 (by the looks of things around here I may be the old man of the group.. ) and have been gaming for many years (mostly sports games and anything starwars). Married and I have 2 kids. I read about the game several months ago and was blown away at the possibilities that it could present for myself. Then I immediately thought about Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds and got worried. I took a bit of time to read about the company making it and their success in this genre of gaming and quickly got excited again. I dont have a ton of experience with RTS games but I do enjoy anything that is StarWars. The last few years I have spent about all of my time with Star Wars Galaxies and I am very proud to say that I finally cancelled that game after 2 years of playing...many months of beta testing...and several years earlier with just following the game. What a bust that turned out to be. But I did meet a nice group of friends that plan to all take up Empire at War as a new hobby come its time of release....Ill try to get them to stop by in time. My cats names are Dakota and Crayola
  12. Would Luke (if in this game at all) have a saber? I am not positive on how far this advances down the timeline but I know it starts after Episode 3 and prior to Episode 4. I had pictured in my head that we may see him...but he would only be on the moisture farm on Tatooine with the Lars family. This would be the reason to see Obi Wan on the planet ...trying to protect him. I was thinking that it would make Tatooine a very critical planet for control or destruction if that is the case. But I could be totatlly wrong....was anything ever said about Luke...Leia and some of the other characters that needed a bit of time before they really become a powerful force (no pun intended) in the timeline?
  13. I just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to this site as a registered user but I have visited it in the past to gather some info about the upcoming Empire at War Video game. The atmosphere has been very nice in here (much better then the LucasArts boards) and I figured I would join up. Empire at War really looks to be a great game that I am very excited about. My experience with RTS games is limited...I played a little bit of Warcraft, AOE, and some Galactic Battlegrounds...so I am not as versed as some of you with this style of gaming. But I am excited to learn what I can. Just wanted to say hello as you may see me post now and then to contribute to discussions. It is nice to meet you all!
