  1. can't wait to do pitched battle in a sprawling orbital shipyard area, with huge space stations and lots and lots of ships... I wonder if the supershipyard/super training facility strategies from SWR will work here...
  2. heheh not the suitable place for a Rancor to fight... although it would be funny to watch I suppose
  3. No TIE fighters aboard ISDs?? that's preposterous, there are supposed to be six full squadrons carried by each! Every game, guide or otherwise source material lists that... TIEs need to be carried, they don't have their own hyperdrives!
  4. I've said this elsewhere, but do any of you people remember how in SWR you, the faceless commander, had your headquarters ship? The opening and losing cinematics establish those, what I would like to see are those flagships with you, the player, at their helm, implemented as actual game units. You could use them in battle, and watch action unfold from the bridge like the wannabe Grand Admiral Thrawn we all dream of playing out.
  5. i agree that there should be the option (at least multiplayer) to do battle in deep space, if only to speed up performance. It would also be a refreshing change sometimes to fight somewhere away from planets, but I don't know how to pull it off. Maybe the game area could be made like the Imperium Galactica II galaxy. Hey, maybe that's where they're stealing id*cough* drawing inspiration from...
  6. I'd like to take one aspect of Star Wars rebellion and realize at as a game feature; to be running a war, EaW style, but be doing it from your own personal command ship's bridge! Your flagship would be an actual game unit, available for action, while at the same time vulnerable. This would enable you to watch space battles unfold from your own Mon Calamari swiveling white chair or through those triangularish viewports of Star Destroyers. This would also enhance the battles you'd choose to lead personally, as you'd have to be more careful with your own survival than when heedlessly sending faceless units to their doom. What would be extra cool were space battle options to take charge of your flagship systems and operations, directing your TIE squadrons and turbolaser batteries. A leave it to the captain option would automate these.
  7. I'd be greatly surprised, really greatly even, if the super star destroyer isn't included... it's one of the most popular starships from the whole star wars galaxy, it's impossible to include the 'oldie' victory destroyers and so on and then skip the mother of all capital battleships... The only question is whether it will be buildable or only available as a special appearance Hero ship. I'm inclined to think the latter, as the Executor from Ep.V-VI is made to look pretty unique, Vader's personal command ship. On the issue of size discrepancies, yes, there are several classifications of what a Super Star Destroyer is. The most original, from Empire Strikes Back, where by literally comparing the established 1600m long ISDs with the looming giant they're shown patrolling, we arrive at something in the 19,5 km range. This has been backed up by some EU stuff, but some say this was only the Executor's size, not the 'usual' SSD, which is usually listed at 8km long. Then there are all sorts of huge villain megaships that fall under the SSD category, such as the command ships from the Jedi Knight games, and then ships such as the Eclipse and Sovereign Destroyers can be viewed as SSDs, while their superlaser abilities might beg a different classification...
  8. I'd imagine the Imperial Palace, Palpatine cowering inside, would be the central target, sprawling over the center of the map. The rebel attack would have to begin with a massive aerial insertion from multiple angles, with fighters running cover all around. The Palace would be made up of platforms/layers which would have to be conquered in order for the assault to succeed. I'm willing to bet practically anything that conquering that zero-zero-zero planet is a victory condition/a way to win the game
