  1. map still doesn't show up in the map list.
  2. This is the only file i have played with. I extracted the config.meg inside the EAW folder. then copied the file here into and over wrote the file that was in the xml folder. my map is at the bottom, galactic conquest 2 i just want to create a GC style map 40+ planets with both sides starting with only 4 or 5 planets, and surrounded by pirates to slow exspansion. the empire half of the map is mostly untouched since i was just going to try the rebels. oh i also have a victory_class star destroyer to one of the rebel planets, trying to give them a stolen one before i found out there was something else u had to do to make them playable. by the other faction. wanted to add some corvets and small ships to pirates as well but left them as is.

  4. i tried creating a new single player map for Gcon. but don't know where to put it to get it into the game. i have it saved into the campainsingleplayer file in my working folder.
  5. how would i do that in just adding a new single player map. i think i have the bulk of adding a new map figured out. i hope.
  6. something isn't working i found the singleplayer.xml file but can't seem to lkaunch it in the DATeditor it looking for a .dat file

I have been told this is simple. but for some one who doesn't know what they are doing.... basically i want a single player galactic conquest map. i want 40+ planets with just a few starting planets I only want 3 or4 planets to start with for each side Mon calimar, kashyyyyk, and kessel for the rebs. corrusabt, cailder, and some other on that side the Galaxy like alzoc3. and something like korriban imperial, something for r2&3po to have to steal from. with light starting forces, not sure how heroes work on unlocking but want to be able to unlock all of them. also i want the planets surrounding both sides pirate controlled to slow down expansion on both sides. thats something i liked about rebellion u could take ur time to a certain degree. any help here is appreciated.

  14. it locked up on me, but then it might just be my pc. i tend to lock up on alot of games. that i should be able to run no problem. p4 3.06 ht 1 gig ddr 400 ati9800 pro 128meg. battle of middle earth i lock up about every 2 battles.
  15. if you ever read any of the books. " the X-wing series is good to start as it has lots of space combat" Large ships, are not able to target fighters well. Turbo lasers and Ion cannons are like the Big 16" guns on a battle ship with there Size and mass they don't manover quickly enough to track fighters. they also don't depress far enough to cover fighters that are close to the hull of a large ship. thats partly why after the battle of yavin where the 1st death star is destroyed one of the things imperial commanders fear most is TRD trench run disease. Star destroyers would still fire at fighters just hoping that to cause confusion and nail the unlucky pilots that fly into the wash of a laser bolt the size of a 18 wheeler. even a glancing blow would destroy a fighter. thats why the imperial ships carry tie fighters. it wasn't until the lancer frigate. that a ship was designed to deal with fighters. it had basically 40 turret mount laser cannons off Tie bombers. they did not have the punch of turbo lasers and were limited to about 2km in range they were mounted to fast moving turrets so that they could track a fast moving fighter. now in RL it would make since to mount the anti-star fighters to star destroyers much as battle ships in WW2 carried all of the 20 & 40 mm along with .50 cal machine guns. The writers of Starwars failed to put them on star destroyers, and thus capitol ships even those as small as a carrack class light cruiser are weak to fighter class ships.
