  1. t-online download stopped at 20% downloading with azureus now (bt client) i think it should be enough to add the tracker and copy the allready downloaded file into this directory - then restart the client to share the file. (copy it there - don't cut it, just to be on the safe side )
  2. do they mean render-sequences with this? I sure do hope so, since we won't get movies with real actors and i sure don't want ingame sequences which look as crappy as C&C Generals.
  3. i'll use the linux way of explaining it -_- of course they are in ... if you mod them in - you can mod everything in you want to have, it's easy modable through xml files :P

  5. as for online play: just stick to the original version - it's most likely the only version you will get good games /decent opponents
  6. => no new information given there. I think the screenshots they showed were old - i have seen better graphics in other screens. He mentioned one multiplayer mode where the opponents start far away from each other at different points in the galaxy. From this view you can zoom in onto planets.... this info isn't new either i guess. In the end - not worth downloading Mooff
  7. Will it be anything like WOL? Something like a POL or PGOL (PetroGlyph OnLine)? We had this one in Question 59: actually i posted this question so i would be happy if someone rewrites the confirmed one to get the information i want. ^^ But then the community chose question number 9... ----------------------------------------------------------- What is an average lenght of a battle in multiplayer? How long can the campaign be? cut this one - first time we'll know how long a battle in multiplayer will take is the moment we are good in the game and know the basic rush tactics. A designer never will tell you games could be finished in 5min. Most likely we'll get an answer like: "Games can last from 15min till 3h." P.S.: i did not voted in this poll yet - don't have a fav here :/

  9. This question is more about multiplayer. If we do have an engineer or not. ( I mean the CnC unit). For Singleplayer this isn't really important - for multiplayer it does add a freaky tactic wich can win the game even if you are almost done.

    no connection? i thought the hellsing organisation has it's origin in van hellsing, first one of the clan who hunted vampires - not sure anymore if this was said in the anime or not :/ - my fav animes (without order) hack//sign hellsing witch hunter robin cowboy bebop berserk ruruoni kenshin - additional animes i watched lost universe dragonballZ (second one - don't like the graphics in part 1 - never saw part 3) hack//dusk hack//liminality and some more i forgot >_< search for their names - but i didn't found anything.... (best way to watch them is fansub in my opinion - japanese voices and english subs)

I'm from Heidelberg, Germany - 22 years old - Student There comes the point where i should post that i am a starwars fan - but i'm not. *duck* (sry no offense) actually i came to this game cause i'm a cnc fan or better westwood/ petroglpyh fan. My favorite sciene fiction series ist "Perry Rhodan" - that's where the name Mooff origins from. One more thing. I play for fun - wining is most fun for me, so i play to win. More or less (some points differ) my way of playing online (lan is different) is written down by a guy named sirlin. http://www.sirlin.net/ His play to win articels are very enlightened i think.   13. 1min left - enough time for a warm welcome for our newest member FiX. Welcome. edit: very cool video loved the fighter part and the great camera movement about 4min in the movie space fights look a bit confusing i think - those masses of little fighters speeding around - zooming out will help i quess - then we'll only the the symbols anymore and can concentrate on fighting. But it definitely looks great so far. Even better if you concider it will be released feb 06... ea would present the game now as final *eg*
  14. "Hallowed are the Ori" For me the Ori are the first enemys in the Stargate series which are actually worth it. Ra in the main movie was cool - but this bunch of worms in the series was kinda offending i think - they hadn't the flair of Ra for me. :/ hard to explain. The replicators were never more then a sideeffect for me. Worst of all are the wraith. A weak version of a vampire. In german i would say they are an "Abziehbild" - didn't found a fitting translation - means you take vampires as ground idea and then make them worse. Seems to be "in" nowadays i would say - after movies like van hellsing, underworld ...... Each new stargate:sg1 i'm waiting for the "Hallowed are the Ori" - i like the rhytm of it. If there's actually a clanladder i guess i will make a Prior of the Ori Clan or something like this. Funclan until i'm good enough for a top ten one (1 month i hope ) Back to topic: I'm not sure if a RTS game fits into the Stargate universe. Basicaly every mission starts with >4 people going through the stargate fighting on another planet. End of season 8 - earth has 2 captial ships. (Prometheus und Dedalus) and sure they don't have the capazity to colonize other planets or pump out new captial ships in a row. (one half a year i think is the best we can give them). We would have to make a lot of changes to the actuall stargate universe in order to have some foundation for a rts game. Or we do leave earth out of it and let Gua'olt (however it is spelled) fight each other with their fleets.

  16. source: EAW-HQ geez wanted to post the pictures right here - but at the moment i don't have a connection to eawhq.de. (have those problems sometimes with peticular this site - or better this server ----- cnchq is located there too) whatsoever - there are many games convention pictures - about 9 are EaW ones. on one we see the EaW main menue - on another an alderan mission briefing i guess - on another a skirmish selection screen with 4 selectable? maps and a big chat window.   19. great to see this mineral processor thing. wondered how the would regulate the money income in mutliplayer games if everyone gets a steady income. now i know for the guys who played the game: which amount of money do we get without extra research can we have more mineral processors or how many "mineral wells" were on the map and how much money do we get per "well"? is there a possibility to start multiplayer games at tech level 5 (just to make this one sure) or do we have to start every time at level 1 can you tell us which units are available in each level and is there a max. tech level option. (f.e. like we had in RA - only infantry war etc.) Regards Mooff

  21. I don't think Homeworld is a good choice. I mean it's a great game. But it's totally 3D - won't help for the "2D" empire at war space battles. i would recommend hardcore micromanagement games. CCG ZH if you don't mind having losts of bug and imbalances. Just for rushing purposes cause this is what Zero hour is all about. CnC RA2 for tank fights. Learning how to move them - how to use infantry (dogs) to catch enemy fire. (don't know how important this will be in EAW cause they said all units would attack those units which will be damaged most by them. / grouping tanks in groups of 4 - four shots kill another tank so if 7 tanks attack one there's much firepower lost ....) Maybe Warcraft III or Starcraft for micromanagement - most clicks per second etc. skills. Strategies can't be trained with other games - they will evolve the moment the game is out.
  22. tricky question as said before first i would upgrade the RAM. prices are low at them moment so another 512MB should work fine. as for a graphic card upgrade or cpu upgrade, i think you need a new mainboard to --> PCIe instead of AGP. updating to another AGP gpu makes no sense. i'm planing to upgrade my system if i actually do need it. I mean the times a new games comes out which i choose to play i'll upgrade. So i have a fast PC i actually do need it. (which basically means upgrade in feb 06 for EAW)
  23. real actors would be great. Since the story is non-linear maybe movie triggers. For example a movie as the Death Star is destroyed. :/ Unfortunally i don't think we'll get them. Second best would be render sequenzes - like we at in CnC 1. Remember the GDI falcon attaking the NOD scorpion. Loved them. I even saved the Game and lost on purpose (sold all buildings) to see the losing sequence for this particular mission. As for ingame generetic movies - they don't give me a reason to actually play through single player. AI levels are still low - i don't think single player would differ from having a small army build it up then crush a bigger/ more powerful army. Maybe with buildtime, money advantage for the CPU. Singleplayer needs IMO a great story and a great way of telling this story. Mooff
  24. Hi all <-- new member My questions are all multiplayer related since this is the part i am most curious about. Waiting for a new great multiplayer game since Red Alert 2. 1. If there is a online multiplayer beta test - for balancing issues - how do we become beta testers? Big Lottery? Application (unlikely i know, who should check all those letters *g* ).... 2. Will there be an world wide ladder system - WOL style. Basically something as comfortable as we had in RA2 / with Quickmatch, Clantag and Clanladder etc... Plz don't tell me we will get a Gamespy(-server) based system. second question is very important for me - cause this will make IMO the multiplayer part so much better. Regards Mooff
