  1. I hope so...this guy is just scaring me lol.
  2. I believe that either, A) All ships should have their cannon compliment. B) When you build a ship with fighter capacitty you should be able to choose that ships fighter compliment. But the ships should still be limited to the number of squadrons from cannon. In either case, when you repair the ship after combat, all fighter losses should be replaced...for a fee.
  3. Perhaps they do. Maybe thats what Delphi means when he says it wont be noticable lol.
  4. Ummm...I want you all to notice that it says batteries not single cannons/guns. This is very important as a battery could be 2-any # imaginable. Also remember that Neb Bs are Escort types...they arent built to stand in the Battle L.ine
  5. Look at the top of the site, just under the LA banner, and to the left.
  6. Imp time! Also, we now have a movie of the magnapulse cannon and some more ships/heros! Also, the Feb 16th date is confirmed.
  7. Probably a shipyard. It is Kuat after all. Only people who played EV Nova or the other EV games will get this but...Think of the Kane Band around Earth in EVN (nova). The thing was basically a giant shipyard. Btw...I just noticed some Mon Cals (as in the species) on a desert planet in one of the new screens lol.
  8. If you read my long post on this page (pg 4) you'll see that the fleet in the pic is over 20 cap ships. Btw Fosh, Im starting to agree with your multiple fleet idea due to the new preview. Some of the wording in that article has me thinkin that ur right.
  9. That was from the Q&A from DMUK...I read it as 20 Pop points per side. Debate anyone?
  10. But thats my point, wether thats one fleet or a partial fleet, thats alot of ships. And its more than enough for me. Super Fleets Fosh? lol Sry man....only 20 Pop points per side per battle. lol
  11. I'd like you all to look at this pic released on 12-17-05 (so no, its not out-dated): http://www.eaw-fr.com/modules/view_screen.php?n=3255 I can see, in this small view of the battle alone, 4 MCs, Home One, 3 Mk2s, 5 Neb Bs, 6 Core. Gunships, 2 Core. Corvettes, and 1 marauder Corvette. Thats alot of ships, in fact, its 22 ships. That doesnt count fighters, nor does it include Imp units. And a fleet that size is dang impressive too. Look at it! And I'm pretty sure there are more units off-screen for Rebs bc, unless the Reb player is terminally stupid and put a lone Mon Cal on his left flank, there has to be some escorts for that MC in the top right corner. This is a good sized fleet IMHO. Heck, the ships on-screen are impressive, combined with any units off-screen (and Im pretty sure there are some, considering that MC over in the right corner) that is more than enough ships for me.
  12. Think of the units off screen me boy-o (?) lol.
  13. Still....you gotta wonder what the yellow planets are. Green is friendly, we know that. We can assume red is hostile, and grey is unexplored...that points to yellow=neutrel...and perhaps that points to dimplomacy. Btw...I pumped the preview into Google Translator, but I gave up tryin to read what came out after the first couple of sentances lol.
  14. The link, she be dead. But I'm pretty sure its LoWs tidbit of the SSD model...
  15. SC ftw! I mean, LA cant even say that a balance like that will hurt sales...SC hit the 10 million units sold mark last year lol. You want a good balance example...there isnt one better than SC and maybe WC. And the second somone from LEC says RockPaperScissors/cookie cutter ballance would be bad from a marketing standpoint we should tell them to go talk to Blizzard lol.
  16. I'll jon you in the cursing if hes right lol.
  17. Hehe...Im sorry I missed that thread lol. Realism and balance have their places. While I think most of the ppl on this forum would love a "realistic" game where the rebs had to use every means except open combat to win...the average gamer would hate such a game. It'd be cool, in fact, someone should mod it...but a game needs to be decently balanced to sell, and get good reviews. I'd be happy with the C&C balance I suppose, although, it had a few of the "Army of Doom" scenarios where the only way to win was to spam the build buttons on light infantry and heavy tanks lol. I'd really like to avoid that. Most of C&Cs missions didnt require an Army of Doom, but some did. I want none of these to need it. Anyway, Ive wandered off topic and, although I voted for realism, I can see why the retail version will be balanced. Modding can (hopefully despite LEC intervention) change this to a degree.
  18. Oh, okay, can you link it?
  19. I dont remember...was it a fun experiance?
  20. Not gonna touch that one.
  21. I've seen alot of those questions answered...but a few it seems like you were simply making educated guesses on. For instance, the faction adding, LEC and Petro havent commented on this to my knowledge. This was to Avaris
  22. Ummmm....that the Legacy of War mod for EAW lol.
  23. Thats a problem I hadnt considered, a PRH-Manticore situation...er, sry bout that, prob not a huge # of David Weber fans here lol. Okay, one side is out# 10 to 1 but can only fight on = terms. Here's another problem. Say you're attacking a system with alot of ground-based anti-space defenses. Or even orbital defenses? If the moblie forces are even and the Defenders have all the built-in defenses, the Attacker doesnt have much of a chance.
  24. The pop cap is for the tactical mode btw, not the Galactic Map. Also, this could be balanced if they used the TW system that limited you to 16 "units" per battle...but each unit was more than one man. Example, 1 "unit" of Neb Bs could be 2-3 ships. We'll just have to wait and see.
  25. It is an element Ive noticed in Star Trek, and I always thought it was cool. Wouldnt work in a game though except in campaign missions. Or, it would work in a game but since you could choose from an infinant # of freqs it would be kinda pointless. My 2 cents. PS I really loved that part of ST lore.
