  1. Don't need PT music... it's OK but not as good as the OT sounds. But I would have enjoyed some cool remixes and variations like it was done in Tie-Fighter (which actually had a great score IMO, even if some of the tunes were a bit faster than the OT-Music) because frank is just a master of his art...
  2. SW: Empire at war managed to get on the top of the US and German Games Charts in the first week too.
  3. I just payed €37 for my copy of the german CE.. thats a fair price, even if it wouldn't be any SE or CE at all...
  4. Whoa... man, hell lot of WC sites on the net. Last time I checked for some is about the time of the Star Trek Games mods (Such as mods for ST:Armada or the earlier mentioned ST: Starfleet Command) Didn't think that there is still such a huge community for WC... with all this Stuff provided by these sites it shouldn't be that hard to make a good TC.
  5. I would but there is a detail I didn't think about. This manual is 100% german. Even if all these values would be readable I would need to translate the text... a lot of work.. but I know that I have all manuals from the parts 1 and 2 in english somewhere around too...
  6. Hey... don't no if anybody is interested in this, but I found an old book with all the WC1&2 ships, weapons and everything with their explainations and all the values for armor, shielding etc. actualy very interesting stuff
  7. I just don't care about reviews... Rebellion got only 64% in my favourite game magazine when it was released... and yes, the space combat was just "ugly"... but after all I still play it sometimes when I am bored and want to play a solid SW game.
  8. We love the postal service :-[
  9. I have got word from my store that the game will arrive tomorrow morning. Seems like there is no difference between the european and US release date since here in germany some stores are already handing out the pre-ordered special editions.
  10. YEAH! A wing commander TC would be just awesome! Would love to see the TCS Concordia or the Shiva-Class-Vessel frying some planets with their multi phase gun (so we would even have a replacement for the death star). As for the ground units : There were some "tanks" and buildings in wing commander 3&4 (remember the planetary missions?). The main problem would be that all the WC games textures (ground&space) are unusable and would have to be redone completely. Another problem would be the question of the timeline. Personaly I would like the classic Confed vs. Kilrathi era around the time of WC1&2 (years 2654 to 2664). I know that it would be much easier to make WC4 or 5 stuff with what we have, but I prefer ships like the waterloo class or the bengali carrier over the flat designs of the Victory or Vesuvius class....
  11. The Star Wars Empire at War Special Edition has already been released in Germany. Some retailers have already received their preordered copys and are selling them right now. At least Gamestar (germanys most read gaming magazine) had the following info in their news : (source: http://www.gamestar.de/news/vermischtes/31496/ ) not much to translate Releaselist 02.15.2006, 12:52 New games in the shops : Todays new Games at PCFun in Munich: Getting Up: Contents under Pressure (dt.) Command & Conquer: Die ersten 10 Jahre (dt.) Star Wars: Empire at War: Special Edition (dt.) The Regiment (dt.)
  12. i have ordered my copy at www.spielegrotte.de they already sent me a mail in which they told me that the game will be avaible to all that preordered at the day of its official release. But they don't have any copys left....
  13. Guys... how many times activision and lucasarts and petro said that the demo was taken from an early built that didn't even have all of the features implented. I think this version is more like a "tech-demo" for what EaW is able to show in the full game. The built is from early december so that the guys from petro had 1 1/2 month to the final gold state. They even used the time after the demo release to polish the game. Also delphi said that the speed and balancing in the demo has been changed so that playing with only 3 planets and a fist full of units would be fun. You will never be able to kill a complete imperial fleet with only han solo & chewie in the full game
  14. Pah... reviews... I just don't like them. Since most magazines gave Generals a better rating than most other c&c games I just lost my trust in them. Just look at the games which got good marks over the last years. The Sims etc. Don't like that kind of game. It's something for kids or people who can't play anything else because of the lack of skills.... today you have to sell your games through a major publisher and just implent state-of-the-art gfx and no one will ask about the gameplay. Some old C64 games are more fun than things like BFME2 or Generals.
  15. Great work! I hope for a complete fx mod as soon as the game gets released. IMO Petroglyphs FX are great but don't catch the feel of the other SW games. XvT or XWA graphics are much better
