Even with seven attempts, that's a damn good setup. I can count the number of times I've started with two carriers over the years on my hand. Is there a thread or FAQ that details the starting ship (outside of the SD over Coruscant and transport over the Rebel HQ) assignment?

I'm not sure how to take that ... for my enjoyment or to see me beat Right now I'm assuming all three are under construction. Number 3 is definitely UC (under construction) and has absolutely NO progress bar. I must have got lucky to get my info just as the Imp SY started. As for the other two, I'll find them but I don't think they'll be too far along. Well, should you encounter them, it should make for one hell of an update.

In my experience, when the opposing AI is reeling, it will just build Interceptors or A-wings and lump around 6 on each system. Of course, letting the AI hang on for a while allows me to encounter Defenders and B-wings (pretty much when the AI feels it can be on the offensive).

It's definitely much easier to have short games for the Alliance, especially if you can get an idea on Vader's whereabouts (Palpatine is almost always on Coruscant). Considering how hapless the AI usually is, it's not that hard to sabotage that SD it has orbiting Coruscant and have some corvettes deal with the hordes of TIEs.

I'll admit: I am generally pretty lazy and allow the AI to manage garrisons. It does have a good idea about loading up troops on systems loaded with facilities, and it gets rid of a hassle. But never, ever, let the AI handle resources. -

I'm not gonna hold anything against Bai Ling considering her scenes were removed from the final cut of RotS. But I was disappointed Matthew Wood didn't give any tidbits of Grievous (although it'd be hard to do without some synthesizing): "ACTEVATE RRRAY SHIELDDS!" "ARRMY OR NOT, YOU MUST REALIZE, YOU ARRREE DOOMED!"

Were those all loaded with Defenders and Dark Troopers? Damn, that's a lot of resources.

What's funny is that I didn't even realize you were from New York until I read that post. I have to say I'm pretty psyched with the team contending (could be a 4th seed), especially after enduring the Jets this year (but Mangini should help rebuild the franchise).

How many facilities to build?

My core sectors usually have planets that have either 6 CYs, 6 TFs or 6-9 SYs along with defenses. I usually devote super-duper SYs to the Outer Rim. -

The only thing I can suggest is repeated sabotage missions (what's the situation with troops? Is it 8 stormtroopers? 8 dark troopers?) against the troops with good decoys (high espionage ratings) along with the actual saboteurs (this has happened to me on a few occasions, and I was able to successfully destroy the shield first and then bombard the rest of the troops). Or you can just build some escort carriers with Y-wings.
