  1. lol- I remember unobtainium from Journey to the Center of the Earth. I saw Avatar a while back, too, and really enjoyed it. I expected it to be an extremely silly special effects film full of stuff that I would want to poke fun at. While it wasn't the world's most original concept (think "Dances with Wolves" in space), it was done solidly, and didn't try to explain too much of the magic science away with actual jargon that you could see through plain as day. Some stuff was a tad silly, such as the mechas, but they still ultimately added to the experience. The rendering of the characters and creatures is solidly done, and looked realistic, and you got wrapped up in the storyline. I was surprised to find myself feeling sorry for the characters as they lost their land, seeing as what was going to happen was obvious from the onset of the film. All in all, I recommend it. Though I don't think you need to see it in 3D. I think that was a waste of money given the general lack of changes 3D made to the experience. Imax, maybe. 3D, no.
  2. That was terribl...y funny!

  4. PC Gamer gave it a pretty low review; it was in the 60s out of 100 possible points. Not a full-on letdown, but by the same token, they didn't much care for it.
  5. You're certain that it was by bounty hunters? If it was a simple Imperial capture, it makes sense that he would go to Coruscant. I've had Han get captured before, but my script always fired just fine. Also, no offense, this is a 7-year-old topic, Markus. Kinda delving deep, aren't you?
  6. lol- well, if you major in engineering, there ought to be sufficient homework to eliminate your drinking time altogether. Not that I really drank prior to college, but my alcohol consumption since I got here is pretty much limited to what I smell on other people's breath. What're you planning to major in?
  7. You've mellowed out with age, I see, Mad.
  8. Heehee- I talked to a friend out in Texas and said, "Happy New Year from the future!" She informed me that China had beaten me to the new year by twelve hours. Touche, China, touche.
  9. Well, I suppose that makes finding out that it's presently two degrees C in my college town a bit less aggravating...
  10. Appeasement Quite possibly the funniest thing ever.
  11. If nothing else, TFU had an amazing storyline to it. I never played (don't own the correct consoles/not springing the dough for Ultimate Sith for PC), and I'm hoping TFUII will deliver on that front as well. I wonder if we'll be seeing Yoda?
  12. D-d-d-double post! I saw 2012 today, and I absolutely loved it... for all of the wrong reasons. It was the single silliest, stupidest film I think I've seen all year, at least for the first half... slash, one of the main characters was played by the same actor who portrayed the Operative in Serenity, and he made some line about how "We can't kill children!" and I burst out laughing. At any rate, the screen is constantly occupied by people running from a wall of death in the forms of (though by no means limited to) massive fissures opening in the earth, flaming balls of lava flying out of a super volcano, more massive fissures, walls of snow, walls of water, and Chinese people. Oh, and I think at least 25 items on the National Register of Historic Places show up and/or are destroyed. All in all, don't go to see it expecting a good movie. Go to see it expecting to MST3K the living hell out of it, and you will enjoy it tremendously. One of my friends started a "My God!" counter, and hit twelve before he forgot to keep track... half an hour into the film. I highly recommend it to people with a sense of humor; it's so bad, it's amazing.
  13. I make my cash acting as a tutor; inner cit kids need them especially, it seems. Hardest part is just not getting frustrated with 'em, because sometimes they refuse to try to understand after a certain point; they just listen to what you're saying and copy it down.
  14. So I signed up for a free trial of a rather expensive Amazon shipping thing to get Christmas gifts for folks, and I want to delete it befoe I renews (I don't want to forget I "tried" it, and then get charged for it when the trial runs out). Anyone know how to disable Amazon Prime from your account? Edit: Fixed it myself; my bad, guys. I was being dumb.
  15. They're giving you the keys to a vehicle that's designed to be shot at without exploding? ... what have they been putting in the chocolate of late, and how illegal is it?
  16. I agree... rather odd and idiotic course of action for the universe, especially considering the rather recent Mandalorian portrayal in the Empire at War: Forces of Corruption game, as well, as almost all source material on it.
  17. Amusing though it is, I call shennanigans on your post; I contend that that was written from a list of "Ways to get kicked out of Walmart" list.
  18. Ukrainian Polka... of Hot and Cold.
  19. Best of luck to you, Rob. And props, for being able to say that college was the best 9 years of your life, thus one-upping Van Wilder.
  20. Just looking at the trailer, it looks like it came out ten years ago; the graphics it displayed were pretty horrible, and the gameplay mechanics appeared to involve the patented, "Jump way too freaking much to get to an interesting segment."
  21. "What if the movie sucks?"
  22. Way to go! Who's the fath- I mean, congratulations! (I'm kidding! Please put the golf club down!)
  23. Something, something, something, darkside. edit:
  24. Entertaining...
  25. Gra! Figures that you'd be heading through my neck of the woods when I'm off in Indiana! Have fun with it, Rob.
