  1. Cogs are turning, have no worries Cheers! Brad
  2. good call. waiting to hear back from EvilleJedi.
  3. Thanks for the info! successfully got tractor beams up and running! would it be ok for me to make the modded files available for download? I've only ever modded for my own use on my computer so not really sure what to do there, and also want to not steal the thunder from SOGE. I'm not really sure what the proper way to do all this is, so if anyone has some insight, that would be great! Once again, thank you all and I hope I can help our group in any way possible. Cheers! Brad
  4. Hi all! I'm new to here, but have been modding SWRebellion and SOASE for a bit now. Thank you so much for putting together the SOGE beta mod! I was able to successfully merge the mod into the 7SINS mod, no glitches, to get a sense of what its like to fight on a more even tier and utilize alternate planets (I figure at some point we might have a few custom planets like Coruscant, Kuat [and by extension Kuat Drive Yards], or even the Katana Fleet drifting in a system waiting to be reactivated. Also revamped modded ships stats so it is actually more balanced (I lost my first star destroyer yesterday), ship powers (put the Ion Cannon on the ISDs), and reworked the scope of the powers so that they A) deal with the extra gravity issues, particularly for bombardment, colonization, attack targets, and capital abilities, and B) to better reflect what powers the ships might have based on lore. Currently working out a way to capture enemy ships (Tractor Beams!!!) so I'm deciphering the codes for 7SINS. Props to the 7SINS guys and to you for SOGE. I hope the melding I have been working on is kosher by you guys as far as testing out balance of ships goes. Thanks again for providing the SOGE mod, I look forward to the next installment. Cheers! Brad
  5. General Ferrion Caxo Rebel Male Human Ferrion was the Imperial base commander on Coruscant when it fell to the New Republic. A Rebel sympathiser for years, he, and those under his command, defected at the time the Rebellion attacked Coruscant, helping them to conquer the planet more easily. Well respected by his troops, General Caxo was a loyal imperial until he was forced as a Colonel to slay several hundred civilians who were thought by Vader to be rebel spies. The final straw that brought him to the Rebellion was the mysterious dissapearance of his sisteer and her family on coruscant monthes before his assignment to that position. She had been a senator, but she had supported Palpatine in his rise to power. During his personal infvestigation, all he could finds out was that her neighbors had seen red-claoked Royal Guards at her house, and after that, none in her family had been heard from since. All questions to authorities came back negative. General Caxo is adept at defense and ferreting out spies and interlopers. He was also a key figure in the adaptation of the AT-ST walkers from the older models used during the Clone Campaigns, 20 years earlier. His unswerving loyalty to the New Republic, and insights into the inner workings of the Imperial Army have earned him a place of respect in the Alliance Military. I figure most of the alliance military we don't already know about from the established universe is probably an imperial defector. Who better than the base commander from Coruscant? =) Brad Reinhold Dark Forces
  6. Ursula Zymanthe Female (same species as Aurra Sing) Ursula was a force sensitive bounty hunter who drew the attention of the Emperor. Trained slightly in the Dark Arts, she was one of several candidates for The Emperor's Hand. Halfway through the training elimination process, Palp[atine instituted single elimintation rounds into the training, so that only the most battle hardened of the recruits might achive the position. Ursula vanquished all in her path, but fell at the hand of Mara Jade in the final round. Instead of Executing her, Jade chose to spare her life, leaving her near dead on the forgotten world of Wayland along with the Emperor's Vaults. After recieving some cybernetic replacements for her damaged left arm and both legs, she returned to the Emerpor's service, vowing never again to be bested by another, and determined to prove her capability and quality. She is currently stationed at Fondor, at the training facility for the Imperial Guard. She is a top-level expert that is often assigned to missions which require finesse and discretion. She has also quietly kept up with her training in the Dark Arts, though she is no match for a true Force wielder. Combat: 70 (30) Espionage: 80 (20) Leadership:60 (20) Diplomacy:10 (30) Force: 100%, level 30 No Research ability 100% Loyal (Will Not Defect) May Not Train Jedi Recruitable Imperial Admiral: No General: Yes Commander: Yes ///////////////////////////// Feel free to adjust stats or history. I always wondered about the other force potentials besides Mara Jade that might have "interviewed" for her position I figured that most would have just died in elimination tests like all other sith (KOTOR Sith Academy was my idea) who would try to get to the top, but since mara had a good shred in her, and since the emperor showed some compassion in episode 3 (personally, I thought he would have killed Vader out of hand simply for failing at his task and becoming useless...but apparrently he lets those who fail live... so that gave me this idea) Hope you all like Brad Reinhold Darkforces
  7. here's the problem, at what point are you planning for the TC to start? after ep 1? at the end of ep 2? at the end of ep 3? Also, no way I can see to do the whole anakin conversion. Closest thing would be to have Anakin be in place of luke, have Yoda be in place of Mon Mothma, and have Mace and Obi in place of the others, then have Count Dooku and Sidious in place of vader/palpatine. That way, the confederacy has to recruit members, a realistic thing given the nature of the separatist high council.... Sidious had to recruit all the leaders of it, and Greivous didn't rise until later on. On the other hand, the Jedi Council were around before the clone wars. I dunno. I think it will be fun, mostly because of the new units, but I think it will take some massive rewriting / editing if you are going to change some of the fundamentals to better reflect the nature of the clone wars. Again, good job!
  8. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that the worst Star Wars trilogy ever written is in my humble opinion the Jedi Academy Trilogy. I'm sorry, but as is posted regarding Darksaber, another Kevin J. flatback, he's obsessed w/ super weapons. And the stupid ship he designs, well, it does cool things, but its invincible. Don't get me wrong. I love Daala (I do! my fiance even looks like her!!!). On the whole, however, I must say that that trilogy is terrible. (and yes, I've read the others so I speak not from ignorance )
  9. Is there a reason that Kuat or Rendili systems in the game? Maybe I just missed them, but I don't remember ever seeing them, and they aren't in the encyc. Also, can't remember if there is a Carida, Raithal, Corulag, Eraidu, Gall, etc. Finally, is it possible to make it so that you have a Nal Hutta and Nar Shaada right next to each other, since one is themoon of the other? Thanks, and sorry for asking if these questions have been addressed. Seriously, there is no Kuat or Rendili! Thanks
  10. THis game is the Fzzzvzzzolte I love the game itself, and the fact that you are working on modding it to star wars.... One quick request: Is it possible for you to have it be 10 systems/map, and 20-50 maps for the whole galaxy? I realize this would be a ton of work, but perhaps there is a way to randomly generate the systems in the first place, then mod them from there? One other quick Q: Have you found a way to incorporate a 'Galaxy' map into the game, so a player can look at the galactic overview (besides just the Empire pop-up)? Sorry, I guess I'm the wierd one on here, but I always like bigger grander strategy than small localized ones. The great thing about hegaemonia was it was kinda both. I just remember always being disapointed in how few systems there were on any given map sequence. I do not ask this with nothing to offer. If you can show me where to get the modding programs, I would be willing to help Anyways, regardless of the rest or anything else, THANK YOU FOR MODDING HEGAMONIA!
  11. I figured out how to use ResHacker to edit some text, but I still am unable to use RebEd to edit anything other than stats. I don't even have a greyed out box or anything that might let me edit. Anybody got any suggestions?
  12. lol I played in the same tourny and lost 1st or 2nd round. There were some crazy decks there
  13. try http://www.ccgworkshop.com
  14. I'm not great with computers, but I'm willing to try to help (if you need it). What I am decent at is writing and grammer checking (i.e. I think I could tackle some of the Encyc entries or text, or just make sure the text reads well). Let me know if I can be of use: tbreinhold@hotmail.com
  15. I play the game actively There is a lot of skill needed to play, but it is a lot of fun. The company that made it, Decipher, lost the SW Liscence a few years ago to Hasbro, but many of the players got together to Create a Players Committee (PC). They have been releasing online 'virtual' sets for several years now, and hold a $1000.00 World Championship every year at GenCon Indy. If you want more information, check out http://www.swccgpc.com
  16. btw, where is the 'e' for EncycPic editing in rebed located? I can't even find that. Does anybody hve a screen shot? Again, sorry for any dumb or obviuos questions, and I appreciate the help
  17. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I read it was this: Chancellor Palpatine's "appearance" is a ruse, a trick, a method to gain Anakin's trust and leadership in public. Whenever he uses the darkside, at least more than just for lightsaber combat or mind tricks, he assumes his true form, and his disguise disappears, as it supposedly does during the battle with mace... It's not until after Anakin has intervened against mace that Palpatine reveals his true self and kills the Samuel L. He retains his appearance because there is no need for cover anymore... He's already converted Anakin to the darkside, and is in charge of everything, and frankly anyone who doesn't like it can suck on a Force Bolt. He explains it after the battle with yoda by telling the gathered Senate that he was disfigured by his battle with the treacherous Jedi, and that the Jedi Insurrection has been put down. In fact he is not disfigured in the battle with either Yoda or Mace: Mace is not strong enough, the only reason Palpy doesn't execute him on the spot is because of his pivotal role in converting Anakin. Neither Yoda nor Palpy is seriously injured during their battle, not that it isn't a close thing. But his assumed visage doesn't matter after Anakin converts. Just my 2 cents
  18. Thanks for the response! Windows XP. It's pretty new; I got it for my fiance, since she needed a computer and plays on Galaxies. So the board is a P4 3.2 Ghz i think and the ram is either 512 or 1024. If you mean something other than that as far as set up, let me kno and I'll try to help. The funny thing Is, I'm wondering if i might be my rebellion disk; I lost my old one about 4 years ago (read, I loaned it to a friend and never got it back). I play a lot of SW:CCG, and since my area dried up for that I started looking for Rebellion again (its a pretty close experience in some ways). I decided that since I could get a little bit more assurance buying it from Lucasarts than on ebay, I picked up a copy at their online store. The box and everything looked original, but I dunno. I used to work comper help a long time ago, so I've tried to do as much as I know. After your first suggestion, I clicked the CD, and selected Reinstall and Maximum Install. Now thats how I had it originally since the HD space wasn't an issue, but what the heck, right? I also re-downloaded RebEd aand opened it (since I couldn't get the uninstall feature (if there is one) on my original copy to work) and have been using that, but no difference. All my rebellion stuff has come from this site (awesome job btw) so I don't think there should be anything different about whats on my comp and on you guys's, but I've never seen it elsewhere. Anysuggestions would be great, and thanks again for listening to the rumblings of a newB. -DF
  19. Anybody got some other suggestions?
  20. I did a full reinstall of both rebed and rebellion. I had one to begin with, but now still no difference. So, Maximum Install Rebellion Rebed 0.26 Rebellion Disk in machine Windows XP -- 512 RAM, 3.2 ghz P4 anyway, thts the status of stuff now.... let me know what I'm missing or doing incorrectly! Thnx!
  21. ok, I'm new here, so bear with me 1) This has a point, so bear with me since playing rebellion for a while, I was very excited to find out about RebEd. Very customizable as far as loading cards and changing stats. Now, my biggest beef with the old rebellion (Aside from thrawn not ever being force sensitive and the hyperspace problem) was that the imperials didn't have any decent transport ships. Considering that for all I can tell they made up the star galleon, why not use the bulk freighters we saw in TIE Fighter. I was glad when I found a card for it here, though I am still trying to work on learning the model importer. Now take it a step further. I decided that what the heck, why settle for a freighter when Episode 2 had these huge Star-Destroyer-ish cruisers for troop transport. There is sort of a card here, so I got it, only to find out its not for that republic cruiser (contrary to to the image on the download card section) but for the one that gets annihilated at the beginning of episode I. So I say, heck, lets make a poor man's version. So I change the stats on the victory destroyer (since I didn't really care about it and the model looks like the EP II ships sort of) so its a balanced large cargo ship, and go to rename it, and can't. I know there must be some sure fire easy way to do it, but I can't. I tried to open the file, but you know that got me no where, I tried to save the card as Republic Cruiser, then reload, but no difference, and I tried to edit the Encyclopedia Pic screen, but I couldn't delete the text there (though I could Highlight it) and the name I couldn't even target. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I see all the other cards people have made, so I know it can be done, but I can't figure it out. I don't see a little 'E' as is mentioned in the tutorials, I don't see an encyclopedia option or anything. I am using version 0.26, so there shouldn't be a discrepancy (I hope). Hopefully one of you guys can dumb it down enough In all seriousness, I could use any help available on this 2) I've just got a couple of questions, not about modding, but maybe they are worth asking: Why are there so many, er, random jabronis in the original game? Let me explain: Admiral Thrawn and Palleon are in there, great (Thrawn is one of my all time favorite SW characters) , but how could they put in someone like Bane Nothos over Mara Jade? Same book series as thrawn, slightly more important in the grand scheme of things than most characters, yet no mention. Or the fact that they have Daala, but no Isard? Or (to get away from characters and toward units) how is an Imperial Army Unit, picturing an AT-AT, less powerful than, oh, stormtroopers, Darktroopers, Wardroids OR Fleet Regiments? Lets see here... Dark Troopers shown in films: 0 Dark Troopers Killed in films: 0 (can be forgiven, since they are cool) Attack:8 War Droids shown in films: 0 War Droids killed in films: 0 War Droids reported in the galaxy prior to Star Wars Rebellion: 0 Personell killed by War Droids in any galaxy until Rebellion: 0 Attack: 8 Fleet Troopers shown in films: dozens (Death Star, Endor, Executor) Fleet Troopers shown killed in films: Dozens (plus thousands when the Death star was destrotyed (both times, when the executor was destroyed, and when endor was overrun) Casualties caused by Fleet Trropers ever: 2 ewoks and a squirrel Attack: 5 Stormtroopers Shown in films: hundreds stormtroopers killed in films: more Deaths attributed to stormtroopers: lots, like Owen and Beru Lars, a few dozen ewoks and jawas, rebel troopers, and oh, anybody without, say, 4 or more scenes (or lines except for the larses) Attack: 6 Can be fogiven since a) All they know is killing and White Uniforms, b) who doesn't love stormtroopers AT-ATs shown in films: 5 (Blizzard 1-4 and Tempest 1) AT-ATs killed in films: 2 Deaths caused by AT-ATs: not many, just a whole rebel army, their secret base, some shield generator techs, Wes Janson, a few other Speeder crews, 2 wampas, 4+ turrets and operators, and a partridge in a pear tree. Attack: 3 and so my rant ends. Your Thoughts!!!! (Also, help ( ) on the first topic is appreciated) --Dark Forces
