With either scenario that you posted the Rebels would win handly. Even if you do not give the Rebels the Dauntless. The Bulwark with her 1100 sheild rating + 600 turbolaser and the complement of 10 fighters have enough firepower to take on the Imperial Fleet with few loses. The only hope for the Imperials in that situtaion is, if they have and Admiral and Commander on their fleet and the Rebels have neither. But that still would not assure a victory.

Where are they all??? I want a game and people on MSN are always busy. MSN is not a good place to try an get a game
-
I don't see what that has to do with this topic?
-
Its not really a download, just install the free sotfware, sorta like the MSN Gaming Zone. It will only take a few seconds if you have broadband, maybe a minute or 2 on dial-up.

Check my posts above for the link.

Anyone who wants a multiplayer game, come over to Gamespy this weekend... Lets see if we can get some online community going. http://www.gamespyarcade.com/features/launch.asp?svcname=rebellion

Come over to Game Spy this weekend for a game of Rebellion.
-
Thanks Scathane. I was hoping one of the admins would see this. I hope they like the idea.
-
Yes it must have changed, because I have the patch and have played several games at Gamespy.

The thing is since the community of Rebellion players is so small , we need to agree on one server so people can get a game. People say use IRC or MSN or Kali and I said Gamespy.... Out of all these Gamespy is the best one, IMO. They are a GAME server and are setup for searching thier entire online community for anyone who has the game when you log on. They have private and public chat, friends lists and game lobby already setup. People just have to get to know about it for it to become popular. Look... right now its Saturday evening, the SWRebellion.com home page says that around 30 people are browsing this rebellion site. I am sure at least half of them would want a game. So lets make Game Spy our new online gaming center and have this site's administrator send out an e-mail to the 3000+ members to let them know about it. We could probably revive the game for some time. http://www.gamespyarcade.com/games/

Looking for people to play against. I like playing Rebels, Large Galaxy (15 sectors) Medium Speed, with no razing planets (ex. constant general bombardment) User name : Symbu MSN e-mail : c_balgobin@hotmail.com

How is Rebellion (my fave game) still so popular...?!
SymbuCanon replied to SonofThrawn's topic in General Discussion
I think this game is so good because its relaxing to play. To me its sort of like listening to classical music. Its familar and yet complex enough that it still keeps your interest because you can always enjoy elmements in it that you see all the time. Like the other day my finding Lando to be a Jedi, that game became so much fun as I tried to develope that character to Jedi Knight. I think I'll be playing this game for many years to come even as newier and flashier SW games come out because its still fun for me -
I play with a "No Razing" rule as well. I say you can bomb my bases or burn all the mines and refineries off a planet in a sector I control, but don't reduce a planet to zero resources. Those games usually end very quickly with me quitting out of frustration. Actually thats what stopped me from wanted to play online when rebellion was hosted on the MSN ZONE. So many Imperial players would use their early ISD/VSD advantage my simply razing an entire sector that a rebel player might get first. And the only way I found to stop this was very tedious. I had to run 24/7 espionage missions on my own planets to see if an Imperial fleet was coming and station my fleet there to drive them off. This gets very trying when you control 2 or more full sectors and you constantly have to micro all your spies on every single one of your planets. So "NO RAZING" works well for me

hmmm... Jedi Thrawn, that sounds like fun. I'd Also like Jedi Needa, just because I like that character. And no I don't use Rebedit, I still play the game in its original form By the way, I didn't know other characters could reach the rank of Jedi Master. I guess its because I dont' usually play games for more than about 1500 days. I guess it would take much longer than that to get a character up to Jedi Master status.

I found today after playing this game since its release, that the most powerful character in the game is Lando Calrissian as a Jedi. I trained Lando up to Jedi knight and he was even more powerful than Vader and Luke as Jedi Masters. Not to mention that Lando can do all mission (diplo, esp, sab and incite) and take any command posting (Adm, Gen or Cmdr) His Final stats were Diplomacy : 208 Espionage : 232 Combat : 306 Leadership : 116 So all I got to say is Jedi Lando ownz

The shortest game I ever played was 209 Days. I found through espionage that the rebels were building a training facility on Bespin around day 30, I knew their HQ must be there. So I took my Coruscant fleet, 1 ISD, 1 VSD and 8 ties along with the Emperor, Villar, Ozzel and Needa to Bespin. There I destoyed their HQ, and captured Mon Mothma. I then found Luke a few minutes later coming all by him self to Unvena, so I took the same fleet there an caught him on his way into the planet. That game was vs the computer ovbisouly, but most of my games are 800 to 1000 days long.

I think after seeing this MOD and reading this forum, I will buy HomeWorld 2 as my next game instead of Battlefront. I am much more of an RTS/Space battle fan myself, rather than FPS. I am glad I found this site.
-
Iam going to download the Demo of this game first see how I like it. I've been dissappointed with other RTS's before that were not Star War-ish enough for me, so I hope I like this one. I also hope I can try the SW Mod out on the demo version. btw the pics in the MOD section of this site look amazing for Warlords patch!

Iam fasinated by this game, its exactly what I am looking for in a new game. I Have played Rebellion for years, then Force Commander and now I play SW:Battlegrounds on the zone, and I have preordered Battlefront. But the game I want is more along the lines of a Rebellion 2, and this seems to be it. I bought Imperium Galatica 2 because I thought it would fulfill my craving for a sci-fi grand stragety game, but its just not Star Wars. How large is the HomeWorlds online community? Can you use the SW mods in an online game? If so this might be the next game I buy. thx

Hold down CTRL and click all the units you want in the mission and highlight them. Then create the mission and they will all be in the left hand coloum of the mission screen, double click the characters you want as decoys and they will go to the right hand coloum and there you have it.
