I read the books in preparation for seeing the movie and I got instantly hooked. As for the movie, I saw it three times within the first two weeks it was out here, so yeah, I really liked it. The movie had some parts that were not in the book (I want that gun!! ). There were some parts in the book that could have been explained better in the movie (like the whole towel thing), but for the most part I think they did a good job for people who hadn't read the books. I'm basing a lot of that on my dad, since he hadn't read the books and I took him to see it, and he was able to follow it and enjoyed it. I can't imagine how many little Easter eggs there are in that movie, and I really hope the DVD comes with a director's commentary. Things like hearing the horses neighing in the background when Arthur was talking to the descendant of Genghis Khan--it's explained in the books, but in the movie that's the only hint you get of it. In the US at least, there was an extra little scene about halfway through the end credits. And now I'm going to have the opening credits song in my head for the rest of the day. -Thumper
