I have seen time and again people in here saying that the Zone does not support Rebellion. This is a mistake. You CAN play Rebellion on the Zone. While it's true Rebellion no longer has its own room dedicated to it, if you go to ZoneLan you can set up a game easily. http://zone.msn.com/en/root/cdclassic.htm For some reason when I go to the page I have to refresh it once, but you may not have to do so. At the bottom of this screen is: ZoneLAN - DirectPlay Room Population Direct Play 13 players The direct play is the room you want. Mind you I rarely ever see any active Rebellion players in there waiting for a game, but it IS a place to play if you have found an opponent thru MSN Messenger or other such program.

What are your MSN Messenger names so I can add you to my contact list. easier to set up a game in chat than in email.

Strategy Tip of the Week - Consistent Production
StarlightCoast replied to The Crazy Psychopath's topic in General Discussion
Are you absolutely sure on that? An ion cannon is a thing not a person. How can an inanimate object capture someone? If there is a troop on the planet I guess i could understand the cannon helping the troop to capture the person, but a cannon by itself????? -
I think people need to chill on the word "piracy" Let's face it, it's been 6 years since the game came out and after all this time don't you think it's time to tone down the stance taken when it comes to this game. You can't find it in the stores anymore, and let's be truthful, even someone selling it on Ebay, isn't that in itself a form of piracy? Afterall, you're not getting it thru the "official" way it was meant to be gotten, which these days that would be Lucasarts.com altho I haven't checked in awhile but I assume they are still offering it. Last I saw it was $30 from the lucasarts site. It seems to me that the gaming world in general likes to throw out the wourd "pirate" a lot. What is it called when you buy a book from a store, read it, and give it to your friend to read without paying for it? Isn't that the same thing? Yet no one seems to think twice about that. It just seems to me that after all this time if someone can help another person get this great game when it can be so hard to obtain these days then what is the real harm? By the way, if you have a CD writer you can create a copy of this game and then give it out to as many people as you wish. I made a copy and keep it as a backup incase my original disk wears out on me. If I wanted to I could create many of them and then sell them on Ebay for a tidy little profit. Hmmmm, not a bad idea huh? Just kidding guys.

I am starting this thread looking for active Rebellion multiplayers. The problem I have been having is that I have everyone on my Messenger contact list who lists their email for it, but low and behold they never seem to be online, or they're on but never seem to want to play so what good is it having them as a Rebellion contact. Therefor I am starting this thread seeking active players, people who actually want to play. By active I don't mean everyday. We all have real lives, but it seems to me anyone can play at least once or twice a week. Even if your only available the weekends so be it, but at least I and the other players know when to look for you. My MSN Messenger email is Lebarronn90@hotmail.com I am an active player and looking for the same. There are several people on my contact list I have NEVER seen on MSN Messenger and some I have seen once or twice and then disappear. So if you're an active player, reply to this post and state your MSN Messenger email so i can add you to my list.

The LNR does NOT fire on a ship during an assault. It does fire on the troops assaulting the planet. Try it out and see for yourself. Start a game and take a ship with troops to a neutral world that has 1 LNR on it and assault the world. You will see that one of your troops you assaulted with was destroyed but your ship has recieved no damage.

what is the email address you use for MSN Messenger? I would like to add you as a player to my list.

http://lucasarts.com/games/swempireatwar Could this be the Rebellion II we have all been clamorring for?[/url]
-
Yep they are. Although i hardly ever build them as i dont find they are very good at all. Too weak to do anything useful. Ahhhh my young uninformed apprentice LOL You have much to learn young one LOL All kidding aside if you know how to use them 1 carrack can take on 2 corvettes and a bulk cruiser and win. I've done it before as have many of the experienced players. it also helps to have a less experienced player as your opponeent of course.

StarlightCoast replied to Kandle's question in Questions from Newbies
what is your msn messneger email. If your interested in multiplayer I'd like to add you to my list. We have a growing multiplayer community even after 6 years. Let's talk. -
MSN is the way to go I think. Unless it has changed Gamespy will not work if you have version 1.01 (the patch from lucasarts) Has this changed recently?

If you want names for people to play then check out this page but most of us play thru Msn messenger http://webpages.charter.net/multiplayer/namelist.html

Hiya Darth. I am Head Administrator of the new Rebellion Ladder thru My League and Case's Ladder and currently we have 59 people who have joined the ladder. If you'd like I can send out a newsletter to all members of the Rebellion Ladder informing them of the tournament when you have the details ironed out. Also thru this ladder there is a link to create a tournament. If you'd like you can use this as a way to get everyone signed up. If your interested I could appoint you has an assistant administrator. I believe this would give you a localized place to set your tourney up and get everything centralized. Let me know what you'd like to do. Also if you haven't joined do so and let's get some games going. I have a list of names and MSN screennames listed on the Multiplayer Cantina of others looking for games. If you need a link to these they are listed below. http://www.myleague.com/swrebellion1 http://webpages.charter.net/multiplayer/namelist.html

New Member and would like to know how to play someone?
StarlightCoast replied to il_AC_li's topic in Rebellion Multiplayer
I have a couple of links for you and all others interested. The first thing to do is get msn messenger and list what email address you used for it so I and others can add you to the contact list. http://www.myleague.com/swrebellion1/ That link is for the rebellion ladder. We currently have 49 players signed up. http://webpages.charter.net/multiplayer/namelist.html That link is for a list of players and their msn messenger names also their aim names. You should have no problem finding a player. -
Hey DataJack, if your interested in some real gameplay then you need to play people. What is your msn messenger email or AIM ID or ICQ Number. We have a growing list of people who play multiplayer as well as those I am in contact with in Brasil France and French Canada. If you like the comp and what some real competition then get started on multiplayer. Hope to play you soon.

Only 2 gencores and 2 LNR's? Bomb the damn planet. If you have a massive fleet and I assume an Admiral aboard open fire. Your first shot will level every military instalation on the planet. You will lose 2 ships but if your fleet is massive 2 ships will mean nothing to you. With the troops gone you can then do abduction missions or simply assault the planet.

Question about detection ratings
StarlightCoast replied to Soltaris's question in Questions from Newbies
I think your on the wrong track and I'll tell you why. I am an Imperial player mostly and I find it a lot easier to get thru 3 sullistan regiments when I am doing sabotage than say 18 sullistan regiments. With a General on the world and 3 sullistans present if I have a main person and say 4 decoys i will probably succeed but with the same General and 18 sullistan regiments there is a good chance half my people will end up in a prison cell. By the way, are you interested in playing multiplayer games? If so whaqt is your msn messenger email, AIM ID and ICQ Number? -
One escort carrier with 6 bombers and an ADMIRAL on board is enuf to blast thru a gencore 1 with 1 shot. As far as energy destroying also known as sun crushing some people feel that in war anything goes. With no energy left on the planet it is a planet your opponent can not use in their fight against you. There is a certain logic to this tactic but as for myself I'm a counterpuncher. If it is done to me I will retaliate but most of the multiplayers I play do not use this tactic.

simply put YES

w2e need to talk. What is your aim id or msn messenger id. I currently have a list of about a dozen people who are playing multiplayer.

Darth Vader: Everybody's favorite right hand man.
StarlightCoast replied to BuonoNut's topic in Gaming Stories
Have I got good news for you. There are players waiting to take you on. First get MSN Messenger. we play right thru that service secondly go to http://webpages.charter.net/multiplayer there you will find other multiplayers their AIM MSN and ICQ id's. -
Ok i guess I am a traditionalist and have not done the reb ed thing yet but I do have a question. As I'm sure we all know the AI is stupid. they assault planets with small fleets and playing against the AI it is quite easy to turn almost the entire core your way because of this insanity. Also the AI will not fire on a LNR even if they have a hundred ships so my question is this. Does Reb Ed do anything to make the AI play smarter? I may be wrong but unless theres something that makes it play smarter it still will be an easy win vs the computer. All comments are welcome by Reb Ed users. Does reb ed make it harder to win or not and what must be done (if anything can be done) when using reb ed to make the comp not only hard to beat but gives it the ability to win a few games.

Trouble with Rebellion Multiplayer
StarlightCoast replied to spl3001's topic in Rebellion Multiplayer
If he can see the game name in red then he has to click the arrow at the bottom of the screen. I believe thats all he needs to do. Both of you should get MSN Messenger for you can play using that service.
