  1. http://www.darksaber.freeserve.co.uk/fileopted.htm that should help you out Ace, the ACE_dxf is like the second one down. Enjoy! ah, and to everyone, the RSD is coming along slowly, i hope to have renders in a few days of something presentable *crosses fingers*
  2. well...to get the .dxf of XWA out of the .opt format they are in, u can use ACE_dxf, a little program developed that converts the .opt into its .dxf model and also spits out the textures for you. that does the trick! as for polycounts...yeah...the mask should be able to help
  3. haha...that's the life i'm living everyday....my mom still hasnt gotten used to me challenging her to lightsaber duels tho
  4. haha so sorry TK...all these statistics floating around in my head dying to be typed i guess....i'm gonna try the RSD and hope it comes out good enough under Gank's eye...if not...well i'll just hafta wait for someone better to do it and enjoy the TC regardless
  5. that's cool...will the planets like obroaskai, being the information center for the galaxy and whatnot, will having that planet in the NR/Empire offer any advantages to whoever owns it?
  6. well i guess that works...i hadnt gotten the RSD's info from theforce.net however...it was from cracken's threat dossier. which states the information at 1250 meters...and it cant be weaker than an ISD if it has more weapons? it has 20 more turbolasers than the ISD, 40 more than the VSD, and 20 more than the VSDII...and as for the cost, i think it'd be a lot more believable if it were at half the cost of an ISDII...at least for balance correct? just a few thoughts, tell me what u think, Tsu. in any case, i'm going to start modelling it right now haha, so i'll bbl.

    Fighters

alright, i'll go look for that, thanks
  9. this is sadly the fate of space-sims also i fear...after XWA, LA seems to have abandoned us there too. the rebellion community is one of the strongest for a game i have seen, so we should be proud of that. If LA chooses to ignore that fact, well they're losing a perfectly splendid market...it'd be for their own good if they'd pay attention.

    Fighters

btw, which fighters will be involved? will the k-wing and e-wing be in there, (i'm assuming no defender since it's not really known well), and the TIE Phantom and Defender? Defender is really overused....haha...
  11. has anyone noticed that in the stats of some ships, 'heavy turbolaser' is used as well as just 'turbolaser?' what is the difference? does the game reflect any difference?
  12. mmm....source code...
  13. thank you. i am actually planning on starting modelling later today, i just have to decide on whether or not to install my 3ds max on this computer or on another one. and i understand, all the other areas of the tc are very important also. if there are any ways that i can help with gathering statistics or balancing any of the ships and whatnot, i'd be glad to help there. i sort of have a knack for finding statistics for ships, so if u need any of that done i can help in that regard.
  14. judging by the fact file map, it looks like most sectors have less than ten planets in them. then there are the clusters... but anyways, is there any way to make a sector have more or less than ten planets?
  15. actually, i had never heard of it until a couple of days ago. it's in the unofficial encyclopedia at theforce.net, so i assume it's canon. i think it was in some comics, and maybe even a book. here's the excerpt from that website: Defender this in-system starfighter was developed by the New Republic in the wake of the Battle of Endor, although it saw its greatest popularity after the death of Grand Admiral Thrawn. The primary mission of the 5.3-meter-long Defender was to defend planets against Imperial raids. Although it lacked the speed of a A-Wing, the Defender was well-armed and highly maneuverable. It two wings were mounted on S-foils, and could stowed alongside the fuselage during routine patrols or extended outward and downward when in attack posture. It was armed with three laser cannons, one on the nose and one on each side of the fuselage. In order to save space and weight, the Defender was not equipped with a hyperdrive. the fighter is listed as having been in 'the darkstryder campaign'(RPG) and also Specter of the Past....it's the ship Mara takes down to that Chiss planet from her freighter. actually, i used this website for information on ALL of the ships i've listed so far, so it's pretty useful
