GeorgeLucasmustdie Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 Admiral Thrawn series= Awesome. Rogue Squadron series= Awesome I know they couldnt make a live action movie of them, but even an animated movie would be awesome. In my opinion, these books far outdo Episodes 1 and 2.
TK421 Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 What about those Audio books? They are pretty cool too. Didn't read Rogue Squadron books, they're here for sale but far too expensive hobby for me. Z'anthr saves the world. Sorry about the mess...
GeorgeLucasmustdie Posted January 13, 2004 Author Posted January 13, 2004 yeah man those are awesome!
Trejiuvanat Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 They are great series, yes, better than the prequels, yes. (Debatable in some of the X-Wing series). Could they be turned into movies? Perhaps... If it wasn't for the age of the actors. An animated movie... Hmmm.. I don't know. The prequels suck, everyone older than 16 might agree to that. Some people say that Knights of the Old Republic has a deeper (and better story than the two prequels together). What can we do? Nothing, killing George Lucas wouldn't bring us any further to see good prequels. He was after all who came up with Star Wars in the first place. Twenty years ater ANH was realeased many people had different conceptions or expectations of the Clone Wars, of Anakin Skywalker. I had expected the clones to be the baddies, Palpatine to be the Senator of a more important planet, and Alderaan to have a protagonist role during the Clone Wars. GL let me down in all of them, so instead of rushing madly to Skywalker Ranch, I started to conceive my own prequels. Writing them in the form of a novel... I might still finish it, in a couple of decades... Until then, we can only hope that Episode III will make up for the two other episodes, then kill him. And have McCallm & Skywalker Ranch produce a movie based on the Zahn books. [/i] http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
Jahled Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 Personally I don't think GL is going to quit after EP III... each movie is making him wealthier than any film director could dream of, from the receipts on the door, to the sales of action figures detailing each movie characters nineteen different costume changes; not to mention sponsorship from themed cans of Coca Cola and McDonnalds Big Macs... But cartoons, even a Star Trek styled TV spin off is well beneath the entire aura and magic of the movies. But I guess both are bound to happen....eventually... http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
Trejiuvanat Posted January 14, 2004 Posted January 14, 2004 McDonalds, late 2010. Trej enters."Hi, I'd like a Double-Warlord Burger, with Chiss Fries and Twi'Lek Soda. All of it Wookie-size.""Yes, sir, it'd be 10000 credits.""I'll give you 2000 now, and 15000 when you bring it to my table.""17000 then? By the way are those, Republic credits?" I agree with Jahled, that GL won't quit after Ep III, while he may not make more movies we will see more Star Wars. I don't think he'll make a Tv series. To keep up excellent special effects for a seasons-long series might prove too costly, especially for something as the X-Wign series for instance. I'd think they could be released as a miniseries. The Thrawn Books, X-wing series, I, Jedi... KJA's books. http://www.swrebellion.com/~jahled/Trej/banner.gif
