Rebellion crashes when I load a new model..

Hi, I'm new to this site. I used resource hacker to replace one of the models in rebellion. I loaded up rebed and there was no change in any of the ship data. When I tried to load up rebellion, either from rebed or from the cd, it says that it has encountered a breakpoint and crashes. Anyone know what I did wrong?

A breakpoint ? Never had one of these in Rebellion. They are stop-points you can include in programs, so they'll halt at several critical positions, so you'll have an easier time debugginh them, but that shouldn't happen in Rebellion.

 

Download my new model importer program and give it a try. If that doesn't work, reinstall the game and use the model importer again, it's far more comfortable

Actually, I did try to reinstall Rebellion. It now won't even let me load the game up after a fresh install. I didn't do any editing after installing and I still get that breakpoint message

Did you remove the first installment?

 

And did you use the rebellion patch in the download section of this site?

Yep. I uninstalled the game and deleted all the folders and files not removed by the uninstall. But, no, I didn't use the patch in the download section. I've never needed a patch to run the game on any of my computers or systems, but I'll give it a try. Thanks.

There's something else I just noticed. It may be relevent, it may be nothing at all, but you guys keep talking about the tactical.dll as the one that is edited. I always do a full install and this file is never copied to my computer. I tried it on another computer and it and several other files were downloaded as I suppose they were supposed to be. The only way I can get this file to my computer to play around with it is to copy it over myself. Could that be the problem? Anyone know what I can do about it? Thanks for any and all help.
