Sure, :D

 

there are the Imperial 3D archives with some backups of the old swma models (http://imperial.star-fleet.org/index.php).

Watch the polycount on those models (below 10000 is fine with SWR)

 

And from Darksaber's Opt station you should get all the XWA links you ever need. Be sure to ask the authors of the opts first, if you want to release a converted model, though.

 

Also, check the original XWA models. You can convert them with a tool called opt23ds, which you can download from Darksaber's.

I forgot to write this: what happens if I use models with a polycount of over 10000 polys? And do you know of any good polycount reduction tools (automatic)?

Sorry, this must've slipped by without me noticing.

 

Private use is ok, as long as you don't publish it without the autor's consent.

I don't know of any sites with these stats, sorry.

 

Also I don't know about automatic tools for polycount reduction. I deleted "unnecessary" parts, until I was below 10k :wink:

 

If you get over 10k, then the game might seriously start to not work fluently anymore. The first Home one version had 50,000 polys and many people couldn't play with that much.

Let's change that, here and now :D

 

I'm proud to announce two things:

 

The first will make installing new models, fighters, textures, ...

a lot easier - a program that does this automatically !

 

Please make sure to read the short manual for it, to get it to

work as it is supposed to.

The second is, if you already read the readme file and ask yourself

where do I get one of these .rmd model files ? Well, I also released

a new model with that format 8)

Actually this is the first model I released, that uses a texture map.

If you use vakundok's bmp converter to change one of the bin files

back you'll see what I mean :wink:

Kaja Yanar is a very popular half-turkish, half-arabian comedian in Germany with an own show called "Was kuckst Du ?" (translation: whaddaya looking at ?). Reading your nickname reminded me of him :D

This isn't actually about a new model, but I was too lazy to start a new thread :roll:

 

I am proud to announce the release of my latest program: battlestations!

 

With this one, you can strip the hyperdrive and sublight engines from spacestation models. So the AI won't be able to invade your systems with a fleet of 40 Golan IIIs and jump back out, once it looks bad for it.

 

Thanks go out to vakundok for helping me with a programming issue (time and again :D) and to my loyal beta testers: Jahled, LaForge and Trej.

 

Btw, my host is currently upgrading their servers, so my site looks like it was down.
