Gamespy Room for Rebellion

I wanted to start a new thread regarding the Gamespy room for Rebellion. I have been using it for the last month or so and have met a few opponents. 2 people have been from this forum, meeting in gamespy makes it alot easier to organise the game. It has a buddy feature too where you can leave msgs for other gamespy users, it records time and date for the msg.

Gamespy doesn't allow you to launch Rebellion if you have the 1.01 patch but you can play a normal IP game.

If anyone is interested in starting a game with me, either meet me on gamespy or msg me through here. If anyone else reading this uses gamespy, do a post with your nick so others can see.

Feel free to come along to the Gamespy room, I'm usually there most evenings (7pm GMT +1000) as the nick "icky" (save the comments, it's an old nick :P ) Perhaps we could get a regular thing going with people coming in (the record so far has been 4 people at one time in the room). Might even make organising tournaments easier.

Let me know what you think of this idea.

skit, I had a similar problem with a couple of other games on gamespy. Basically internet connection sharing was enabled on our network and that was preventing me from hosting games through gamespy - or rather I could host a game but nobody could see it but my flatmate who I'm networked with. Don't really know what you've tried obviously but are you having problems with joining by IP, because that should work fine with XP?

gamespy does not work with the patched rebellion so what myself and a few others have been doing is meeting on gamespy and doing a direct ip connection to create / play games. I will most likely be on tonight so if i'm not in a game with vader then i'll be glad to take on any challengers

I agree with Lord Vader. This is a great place to arrange to meet. Its easy to arrange with another player in the Forum, and then you just meet up at the prearranged time, the host gives the other his IP Address and 'Whey Hey' you are playing the game how it was meant to be played, against a living, breathing, thinking and down right mean and devious opponent.

I have two ongoing games at the moment against two very sporting, tough but worthy opponents and I am thoroughly enjoying both. I recommend this approach to anyone interested in multiplayer games.

Any player who fancies himself as a potential leader of the Rebels is more than welcome to play against me in a game to the death!!!! :P

Just drop me a line!!!!!!!!!!!

You have failed me for the last time
