SaiyanPrince203 Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Hi, hope no one minds me posting this here, but I've tried all day to get this mod working. Actually, it started out working fine, when I had just the R1021 download, and I played a good bit of the game before hitting a runtime error, but I didn't think much of that. Then I decided since I didn't save my game, I'd get the R1040 patch, and installed it. Again, it actually started fine, except that the hyperdrive lanes and gravity wells weren't visible and I'd never changed the options. It played for about 30 minutes before going to a minidump. Since then, I've not been able to start a single match, I've tried redownloading from different mirrors (which troubles me still because all of them seem to be coming in at 1.89 gb instead of 1.92) clearing all the mods out, reinstalling, I even deleted and reinstalled sins, and I can't launch a single match with the mods installed. I've even tried with only the CORE mod active, and still nothing. Since I don't know what has changed, this is kind of my last hope here, and I thank anyone in advance for trying to help me with this.
Lavo Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Sounds like you might have a bad R1040 download. Try re-downloading the patch, from a non-Gamefront mirror. There's a chance you have a bad R1021 download as well; you aren't the first one to report weird MDs after getting the patch, and you should not be getting runtime errors with R1021, while others have it running just fine with a clean install. SaiyanPrince203 Posted March 18, 2013 Author Posted March 18, 2013 Well, I'm willing to put the runtime error up to a fluke, since I had been playing a while, with 8 pretty huge fleets spanning 2 solar systems. But like I said, I've tried downloading both downloads now from different mirrors already.
Lavo Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 That's really weird... A proper, clean, install of R1021 followed by R1041 should not be MDing on start up. In fact, yesterday night I played a game of R1041 (was yet to be approved on Moddb; gave them the MF link) with two other guys who had it running no problem. A third person, who was supposed to play with us, was running into similar issues as yourself. He had R1021 previously, and it seemed to work (whenever he played with us there were crashes at some point without fail), though R1041 seemed to break it. Honestly I have no idea what could be causing it outside of a corrupted install; as I've had multiple people with different rigs (and both with ATI and nVidia cards) use it successfully. I would strongly suggest, if you have not done so, trying a non-Moddb mirror (provided in the Sins forum topic) then applying the R1041 patch (which works with both R1020 and R1021, FYI). If that does not work, I'm simply stumped unless it's related to your drivers or that your archive extracting program simply sucks. Sins of a Galactic Empire staff.
setuna Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Yea I keep getting a mini-dump on start up, any way to fix? What does he mean start by the Enabledmods.txt??

setuna Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I know its the .txt file and I did copy and paste what you had on installation into it. But I start Sins normally right? Now I'm not getting mini-dumps but the mod isn't working at all.
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted March 21, 2013 SWR Staff - Executive Posted March 21, 2013 Then likely your path is wrong. Make sure your mod directory is whatever your folder is named, ala replace thisSoGE R1021 Reb And try using the Core module onlyenabledModNameCount 1enabledModName "SoGE R1021 Reb - CORE" Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
setuna Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Renamed the folder in Rebellion mods into SoGE R1021 Reb and then edited the .txt document which is inside that folder so it only has TXTVersion 0enabledModNameCount 0 but it still give me the vanilla game
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted March 21, 2013 SWR Staff - Executive Posted March 21, 2013 Because you didn't enable any mods. Do as I suggested and enable the CORE mod with the text lines I used Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
setuna Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I did as you suggested with the exact code my folder looks like this. Now I'm getting mini-dumps http://img163.imageshack.us/img163/1751/starwarsnw.png
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted March 21, 2013 SWR Staff - Executive Posted March 21, 2013 I'm stumped. Check that your download was not corrupted with an MD5 checkviewtopic.php?f=591&t=28231 Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
SWR Staff - Executive Evaders99 Posted March 22, 2013 SWR Staff - Executive Posted March 22, 2013 Force a recheck of your Rebellion installation via Steam, make sure it loads v1.1 correctly Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
