Someone had to bring this up:

Last week the Clone Wars were aired in Cartoon Network (US & UK)(today in my little corner of the world). For those of you that don't know what I talking about check this out. In few words Lucas decided to bring Star Wars back to TV with a cartoon miniseries. The miniseries takes place during the Clone Wars and features the heroes from the prequels. Obi-Wan, Anakin, etc.

For those of you that know what I talk about and have seen the first episodes, here's the place to comment it.

PS: The starfighters look cool!

Deeply disturbing.. :?

The magic of Star Wars surely has been reinfoced by the complete lack of TV spin-offs so far... I reckon... we wait..a decade...for more of our beloved universe... mumble and grumble about the fresh dose we're given.. but hell... secretly love what we're given... I do. :)

But a cartoon spin off? Oldage Samurai retarded penguin loosers Star Wars aint! I'll kill my rant now because I haven't seen the cartoon, don't wont to, can't get the link to Treg's link to work in any case because my PC has come back from the the repair yard more shagged than it was, and.. err... well that's enough to keep me grumpy for a while...err..

I think i'll play a level or two of Doom on Playstation to work off some aggression..

The cartoon has must to be desired. Each episode is about 5 minutes long with the flash back and forward. I watched the first one last Friday and the second one yesterday. I as set to record the third tonight. I am sure they will be better after watching all 10 together. Anyway, If I remember (and the VCR works ok) I will watch the first, second, and third chapters tonight and give a recap tomorrow of all three.

The site has a SUPERB design, well constructed and nice. Overall, the project is well drawed, designed and has a quite good commercial. But I'm really curious about the storyline, the plot. I think it will be stereotypcal and very simple. But we should not set it all too high, this cartoon is for the kids! :)

By the way, didn't they advertise a night that they'll recap a whole bunch of them? I fear I'll end up missing too many and I can't figure out my crappy vcr to record it hehe. I suspect I'll end up waiting patiently for the DVD.

What do you mean with several questions, vadunkok? Or rather what questions are those??

As for a recap, highlight to read:

Chapter One: Coruscant. Kenobi suggests an attack on Muunilist, where the Banking Clan is manufacturing droids, Palpatine approves the attacks and suggests that Anakin should be in command of the fighters. Yoda and Kenobi hesitate at that comment but agree. Ends with Anakin leaving Coruscant and looks at Padme from his fighter.

Chapter Two: Muunilist. The Republic fleet exits hyperspace. A small Kenobi, Skywalker dialogue in the hangar, in which Anakin points out that Palpatine can see the true extent of his abilities unlike Kenobi, Kenobi answers that he has no doubt about his abilities but rather of his maturity. Anakin launches with swarms of clone starfighters. Followed by Kenobi and the ground assault troops, among the troops are the special ARC troops.

Chapter Three: Muunilist. The ARC troops attack the center of the city, they prove to be an excellent commando unit and are capable of taking out a planetary battery.

Questions:

1. Time. How long after AotC does it take place?

2. Clone army size. Kenobi referred the forces as his army, and it was really large (11 Acclamator- like ships) while the main clone/jedi forces were fighting on Dantooin.

3. Why did the banking clan use geonosian fighters and who piloted them?

4. The official page says that the V-9s were used on Geonosis, which sounds weird. (More and more companies involved in the clone project.)

5. LAATs starting outside the atmosphere and lacking side turrets. New version or inaccuracy?

6. The accuracy of scoped sniper rifle-equipped battle droids. Or lack of it. At least eight of them were only able to hit one very slow moving clone trooper.

7. The equipment of the arc/clone troopers. The ICS suggests that their helmets are full of sensors, however their officer used an electro binocular, and to spot the sniper droids they used a device larger than current days thermal sensors and that information was transmitted by HAND SIGNALS.

8. If the clones had a hand held device capable to spot hiding droids, why would the TF tanks not be equipped with such devices? Currently tanks carry far more sensors than even a special force.

I heard that chapter four is the worst so far, I will see.

While grading some papers (most of the class is doing okay), I was flipping through channels and came across it. I saw the whole of episode 8 [or 7...hell, whatever episode happened to air today (13 November) here in the USA] and, I must say, I dislike it. The animation is just like that of Samauri Jack and the new Dexter's Lab! I knew it was going to be like that, but I must say now that I've seen it I despise it even more!!!

I think I'll do as Jahled did and take some of my anger out on those fools who live in Vice City on my PS2....
