Possible solution to the minidumps

Some of the planet mesh changes might work. I don't believe any of the ship changes would, as I doubt Eville is going to remodel ships again. Possibly some more texture compression

 

I don't think it's a solution - rather it's working around what we already know - 2GB = minidump

ya, workaround is a better term. Unless your planning on making new trade/refinery ships, why not just use those that are in that mod? I know on some of the more connected maps, once late game kicks in 3v3+ there are tons of those little things. Pity they can't reveal >.>

 

I would look into the particle reductions, most of my minidumps appear when its a full blown teamed engagement on one planet

i play with the optimization mod since the firs version

and i have to say the done so many things, there found dozens of errors and endless searchings for files that doesn't exist and rebuild many of the ships with less polygons but the ships looks the same

i would highly recommend to use there work at least for the coding and trade/refinery ships

they also found may reasons why the game lag in the end even with the lowest settings

for example your cpu have to calculate every fight even the ones you don't see, so its a cpu not gpu problem

and mines are a biiiiiiiiig problem too, the ability of the mines searching ALL the time for enemy's, that means the cpu has to calculate on a middle map up to 1000 mine abilities

so use the mod ore at least give it a look, i thing that would help very much to improve the game and the modding scene for the future

 

as player you can simply activate the soage mod over the optimization mod it should change the things that stayed original like the trade ships
