Hi,

Long time lurker, first time poster :)

I have been mucking around creating myself a mod over the last few weeks (to try and make the AI a little more tricky) and its basically there but for one annoying, cosmetic detail ...

I have moved around the fighters in rebed so they are in different slots from what was there before (i.e. the awing is now in the ywing slot and I have added a new model, the ewing to the xwing slot), all is fine, new models for the fighters are in and fine but there is just one annoying detail ...

When in a tactical battle and you select a fighter group, the picture for the fighters is correct, the models are correct but the name for them is not (it is however correct outside of the tactical display).

Its a minor thing, but it is annoying me. Does anyone know how/where to change this text (I tried looking around the dll list etc in rebed but no joy)?

Regards,

C.

ps: thanks to all those moders/modelers out there, I love being able to alter this game :)

Thanks for the replies guys, I will take a look (I have the program, but havent used it directly yet, only as part of the model import process).

Had a bit of a problem with the fighters anyway (well I am guessing it was them) as I seemed to be getting crashes on completeion of a tactical engagement. So I have removed them for the time being, just doing some testing on my mod at the moment ... so far so good, I think I might have made the rebels a little too powerfull though as I lost a battle I expected to win the other night (The rebs have lots of smaller ships, different sorts of coverttes etc).

Still the whole point of my mod is to see if the AI can actually be effective, so the chnages I have made are to try and swing things in favour of how the AI likes to play (like building loads of fighters and troops, regardless of cost it seems).

If I think it's good enough I will post it up for others to have a go at :)

Regards,

C.

If you've been using ResHack for model import, I suggest that you try rmodimport found on the model section of this website. Somehow more easy.

About your bug: are you sure it is fighter related? If you do here is what I'd check: that you do not allow both sides to build a type of fighter.

If not, I'd note this remembers me of some damned bugs I had using rebellion with windows Vista (until 7 came and for good, I might add). Solution might be a virtual console or try the dll thingie.
