Modding The Mod! (New Portraits)

Hey there! Just had to register and say that I friggin' LOVE this mod. I adore it. It's just wicked awesome to bounce around in the Executor, scaring the pants off of other ships while the Imperial March plays in the background. I can't wait to LAN this up with my friends. I really can't thank you enough for putting this mod together.

 

The only thing about the mod I didn't really like was the portraits. They're okay, but I thought the game would look cooler with painted artwork like in regular ol' Sins. Rather than just complain about it, though, I cracked open Photoshop and got to work. It was a bit harder than I thought it'd be, but it was a lot of fun. I replaced every photo with a painted portrait from book covers, comics, etc. I even made the frames around the portraits look a bit nicer too. In the end, I think they look really cool when playing the game. If you wanna try them out yourself, check out the link below. Just unzip those .tga files into the "textures" folder of your SoGE directory, but remember to back up the old files first!

Heck, it's fine with me. I built what's in there now (with a previous contributor's work), but I'm definitely not a photoshop person.

Thanks! And maybe I will - I really, REALLY love this mod. It makes the whole game 100x more entertaining for me.

These are really nice portraits, I've been using them for a while now - there is a fantastic uniform feel to them.

I don't know how we're doing NR and YV portraits yet, but if you want to do them... I'll get them in-game
