Tactical mode troubles

I'm playing Rebellion through for the 2nd time, and am interested in learning more about the tactical battle mode. I've always just simulated the battles before. I do not have a game manual, and am having difficulty figuring out the interface. Does anyone know of any tutorial links, or video's that will fully explain how to use this game feature? I've looked through the forums, and the documentation on this site (and others as well), but can't seem to find any good info on this.

 

Would anyone be interested in making a tutorial video and posting it on youtube for us newbies to see?
