Confirming this. It was between 750-800 MB when I got a install a little while back. Though for me that isn't too big of a dl, hehe.

Checked in, done downloading. Tell me though, is there any way to tell what version I'm at? I'm not sure if I'm up to speed. I've told it to update many times, I don't know what else to do. Just not sure what's going on here, half the info you find about this mod on the net is a year and a half old :(

The current revision (you can see this after hitting SVN Update) is 607. Seeing this, I will start posting revision numbers in individual update posts.

Normal or fast; your choice really. I use large fleet sizes out of preference, though regular or small works well, normal for all the other settings. One thing I'll note is that using small fleet sizes will reduce lag, or at least delay the infamous end-game lag.

 

The main thing however, is the AI must be set to Hard or Insane; if it is not then it will fall flat on it's face. As SoGE's AI is not as capable as vanilla AI, I would suggest going with Insane.

Yeah, Sure.

 

When you're setting up a new game, Selecting the playmap and whatever, what are the speed and size options most of the testers and developers use with regards to fleet sizes, research, fleet movement, and the other things available on the menu? I typically play at a fast pace on all of those, which, I believe might have an impact on my experience (Since weapon damages, and weapon cooldowns do not scale with any of these options).

Main thing that needs working is missing models and mainview/HUD icons; that just takes time. As for the game itself, critique on the Pirates (recently powered down), NR, and Vong would be much appreciated. I'll just note that the latter are indeed a bit overpowered, but this is somewhat intentional.

Checking in, getting everything set up. Plan on doing a lot of multiplayer testing, anything specific to look for these days, map sizes, game types, for mp?

MP is the best way to test. Feedback on all the factions' ships and relative performances would be appreciated, CIS and NR in particular.
