Lavo Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 The Vong scout may be underpowered. It always got destroyed upon 1st or 2nd planet, even with neutrals... From Vector Prime, scouts were not as weak...Which planets were these? If they had Victory II SDs, then this is expected if anything. And what is Vector Prime? All they had were Carrak and Dreadnought. No VSD II's. Ever read the first book of the New Jedi Order, the one that introduces the Yuuzhan Vong??? That would be the one. That's odd... The scout should have been able to get past that. Esp. since I fixed it's auto-engage settings. In my playthroughs I've seen the Gunboat survive some pretty rough situations, albeit not while playing as the Vong. For the record, I haven't read the NJO books, I'm not a huge fan of the Vong storyline. Also do remember that SoGE isn't 100% canon, as some things are different due to gameplay and balance purposes. Heh, I know this is not 100% Canon, especially with basal dovin black holes as shields. But yup, the gunboat is really tough, but the Vong's scout is not enough. That is all...

That is all...To be fair, the Vong also have amazing shield mitigation, which is the closest that one can get to black holes (as both absorb damage/projectiles). As for scouting... You can always micromanage a larger ship. Sins of a Galactic Empire staff.

Didact Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Checking in, haven't had much chance to play sins recently but got a bit of free time now, so I'll go download the mod.
kitridge Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Checked in, downloading now, SVN process is a breeze!
MrPhildevil Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I can't get SVN to reap the updates anymore. Everytime I press update, this message comes-up: Network connection closed unexpectedly Anyone can help?
Lavo Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I can't get SVN to reap the updates anymore. Everytime I press update, this message comes-up: Network connection closed unexpectedly Anyone can help?As I noted in the SVN Log thread, SVN is down. The site was having issues earlier today; it's likely due to whatever caused those. Sins of a Galactic Empire staff.

MrPhildevil Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Yup, now it works. So this is not related to SVN releasing a new version/update?
Lavo Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Yup, now it works. So this is not related to SVN releasing a new version/update?Nope, it had to do with the SWR servers. Sins of a Galactic Empire staff.
ZOCOM93 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Check, downloaded SVN and it all went smoothly just about to try the mod
2IRRC Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Checked and playing. Running into a lot of crashes typically after playing for an hour or so. Games that are 4+ hours in crash often (after about 20min). The problem I have is I don't get the minidump pop-up so not sure how to get at the log. Honestly I think the vast majority of these are RAM related as the game appears to simply run out of RAM due to memory leaks and that window is very tiny. Having 8GB of RAM means nothing when the game is hard coded to use only 2. It may not even be a memory leak. It may have to do with exploring planets since I played 4 hours into one game without ever leaving the system but my ally went all over the place and eventually being able to see two dozen planets was enough to cause a crash often. I'm not sure what to do about this other than limit a map to between 20 and 30 planets. That sucks.
Lavo Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Hold on, you're getting a minidump ingame? And atop that often? I haven't heard, nor personally experienced, much of this. Please, do give more details if you can, I want to investigate this right away. This might seem odd, but try disabling the tactical grid and skyboxes; the latter is known to create some issues at times. I've personally played Huge random maps, albeit later on in the game with a ton of lag, fine. Sins of a Galactic Empire staff.
crazyewok123 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Hi thanks for the invite. Just to introduce my computer in case you have any performace questions or when I have any bugs to report. I'm on a laptop I,m running windows 7 64 bit. I with 6GB RAM. I have a I7 processor 2.66 GHZ. It equipted with a Geforce GTX 280M. And I think its a onboard sound system (never paided much attention to it sorry) But its a pretty unique set up for a laptop so thought Id better post the stats.
2IRRC Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Not really sure what is causing all the crashes. Unlike the pre beta built that crashed for obvious reasons (a ship trying to use an ability in a specific circumstance) this time I can just reload and the game continues for another 5min or as long as an hour or more before crashing again. Its hard to tell what is causing the crash. I'll start a new game with the most recent update without tactical grid and skyboxes and see how that goes. Also you should know that Coruscant's rank 6 Civilian Infrastructure upgrade costs 168,000 metal. I think it's supposed to cost 16,800 but somehow an extra 0 got into it. The next upgrade level only costs like 19k or so. I'm playing with Star Wars Galaxy Max map. That's the only modification I added besides this mod and it seems to work ok but rarely it loads all planets and everything in red colour and it will only load ships like an ISD with only part of the texture like the bridge. I have to restart the game multiple times before it's back to normal. I will report back with what I find.
Lavo Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 That red color isn't a glitch; some suns have odd lighting. Disable skyboxes, should fix that. Also by Coruscant, what planet type do you mean? Found it. Sins of a Galactic Empire staff.
