New to Warlords and nonselfinstalling mods

well the subject tells truth, I've recently went and downloaded all the .big files and put them in my c:\program files\serra\homeworld2\data directory... However I'm afraid that for a newblet to nonself installing mods that the readme.txt is written to vaguely for me to fully understand what's being asked of me.. I remember one day I was miraculously able to get warlords to run on my pc however I've been unable to repeat that past glory... which turns out to have only been a fluke in the first place. Could someone please assist me with getting this mod to run?
