Hey, I've been coming to this site for a while but never joined the site until now because I never really had any questions until now. I've had this game for years, and played it off and on since, but only got into RebEd about a couple years ago. I always managed to get everything to work just fine from my Windows 98 on up to XP, and even my last Vista PC worked just fine. I just spent the whole night trying to get Rebellion itself to work on my current Vista platform (With Program Files x86), but using the Rebellion Refreshed and Reloaded I was able to get the game itself to work.

But now I have tried using RebED, and at first it appears to work until I click on any of the buttons. For example, when I click on the Capital Ships editor, it says 'Cannot open file C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Rebellion\\gdata\Capshpsd.dat'. I know I have the files because I checked, and they are all there. Everytime, and says different things depending on which editor I select. It's really starting to drive me nuts and I'm on the end of my rope. I mean if I simply can't use RebEd I can accept that, I'd just like to know so I'll stop trying.

My new PC (with Vista) died on me, so anything I say is based on memory.

I had no problem using RebEd with Vista (once I dl'ed the file that allowed Rebellion to run). The problem may be related to something besides the OS.

My suggestion is to partition your hardrive and install 98 on one, XP on the second, and Vista on the third (Or put Vista on C: if it's your main system).

I still use 98 to play Rebellion because it works best on it. On XP it doesn't work for me worth dirt.
