I popped the question tonight, as a gesture of starting a new life for the new year. Michelle's a lucky girl to have you, mate. Live long, prosper, and stop after three babies. Seriously, after three kids, the younger kids are going to grow up to be crack dealers. Plus we have a kinda huge global population. Seeing as we can no longer count on you to ensure that it doesn't grow, now we have to depend on you to make sure that it doesn't grow too much. If I'm going to school up in Ithaca or Pittsburgh when the wedding is going on, you bet your butt I'm going to show up and crash the reception. Seriously, though- congrats. Hard to say these days with the weather being so wacky (for example, the last 3 or so years, NYE has been stinking hot at roughly 40 degrees. This NYE was in the low 20's). But July is in our Winter and is often cold. The thing with the weather is that the misses doesnt like the cold too much. Like, if we went somewhere tropical it would be no problem. If we went to Europe, theres lots of things to see and do indoors, where you're not out in the cold as much. But with Australia, at least as far as I can see, a lot of it is outdoorsy. Also, one of out main desires is to visit the Great Barrier Reef, and theres no way she'll be wanting to go if its cold. Your feeble skills are no match for the power of the Dark Side! Darth_Rob Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 Many congratulations, my friend. Have you started the planning yet? That we have. The past few months have been ridiculous. We had to meet like five of each vendor before she was happy enough to select one, so that was a time-consuming process. Finding a church was a bit of a challenge since we wanted a Sunday wedding, and most churches up here dont do Sunday ceremonies. We actually ended up leaving our old church to move on to a new one that was willing to give us the wedding. But pretty much everything is booked, aside from the limo and the rehearsal dinner caterer. We also booked our honeymoon, which is going to be in Walt Disney World. While we wanted to go out of the country for it, we figured that by staying in the US (and spending less on air travel) we could spend more on the actual honeymoon. Plus, the summer after the wedding (2011) we are planning a "family" vacation to go to Italy with my parents, sister, and bro-in-law, so we know that we will be going to Europe in the near future.
