Okay guys i can now reveal one of the many reasons why i have been less present on the forums these past months.

One of them is this. I have been working on my new album. This baby took me nine months to put together ie quite a bit of work.

I hope you like it and would really like some feedback.

Not exatly my taste of electronic music, but it's sure progressive, and I can guess where it's coming from. Do you play this track somewhere as a Dj maybe?

What tools do you use for making music (total noob with that, I am)

I could not open the cover file though. It says the file is damaged :S The thumb for it works, strange.

I don't really get to Dj as a Psytrance Dj regularly but hopefuly I can organise a few parties this summer and promote the album a bit.

 

When it comes to composing I use Fl Studio XXL and a great amount of samples and VSTs.

Nice cover, fits well with the music. Reminds me on Assasins Creed, though I guess it's not what you refered it to

 

I never really understood where people are getting their samples for the tracks. Where do you get those? And what is a VST?

A VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology. Its basically a virtual instrument.

For the samples it depends. Sometimes I'll be watching a movie and hear some cool lines which I find fit well with the music (ex: The Blade Runner or Dune) or other times I'll be actively looking for samples because i know what kind I need but not exactly what shape they will end up having (ex: Cybernetics).

To get the samples I generally get a clip, convert it to .wav and then edit it with Audacity. Then I often add some delay to make it sound cleaner and remove imperfections.
