Hey guys,

I've only just come across your project here in the past few days, I have to say I'm really impressed! I've not played Sins of a Solar Empire, but I may well do just to try out what you guys have come up with ;).

I'm part of a mod team that's working on a Star Wars Total Conversion for X3: The Reunion (for those who haven't heard of it, it's a deep, free-roaming space sim), and we were hoping if we could be affiliates of your mod, like the Tides of War Project. Here's our forum (which, albeit, is very active behind the scenes, but not so much in the public forums), as well as a forum post on the X3 boards showing off a little of what we've done so far (although it's a pretty old post now). We aim to have a website at some point.

We've made a galaxy map and an impressive amount of models so far, with all sorts from the KOTOR era through to the Legacy era, we're a fairly small team but progress is pretty reasonable because we're dedicated. Impressed by the quality and quantity of models you yourselves have made, we were wondering if we could share resources for our respective mods, as I think they'll be comparable in terms of poly counts. Would you be interested in sharing resources?

The mod's team-leader also wanted me to mention that, as a future project, we were also considering starting a model resource for all Star Wars fans who are making their own game mods and 3D artwork, something like the Star Wars Modelling Alliance, before it unfortunately disappeared. We were wondering if you'd be interested in joining us with that if it comes to fruition?

Cheers,

Orix - SWTC Moderator

taking a look at what is posted (for X3 on SW anyway) it looks like your stuff is a lot higher poly than mine, but I would be interested in further dicussion.

Fantastic, thanks for getting back to me Eville Jedi.

Our poly counts are usually 2k-10k depending on the ship size/complexity, although we try to stick around 5k-ish as much as possible.

We tend to use models in .obj format, before we convert them.

I'll try and start getting all our models collated into one resource, which will be periodically updated.

Hello guys :)

Nice forum you guys have here, and with some familiar faces aswell. If you whant to know more about what we are up to, you can contact me directly. I do most of the model work for that mod, when it comes to place it in the game. That game has a large learning curve for modding, and i'm still not in the final line after a year or so on it. Just let me know what you need and how you need it, there's nothing that can't be done ;)

Erm, sorry for the double post but this just came to me: do you guys have a max roof in therms of polis for the models, including hard points and all? I have some tools that can be used to reduce polis so i can provide a sample of what we can do. Give me a few hours and i'll make you a list of ships we have made and the ones currently in the making. It would be good to know what's the max poli count thou, and you can pick the ship you whant too, if we have it, it's yours :)
