PFF Public Service Announcement : All users must read!

Attention PFF community!:

 

 

I really hate to see a grand community such as this go down so sadly. We need to do something. Threads like this have been made before but it’s not enough. Action is the course we need to take. I encourage you to all go out and post and double post and create new threads and make some changes. PFF still breathes but they are shallow breaths. Life needs to be given back. Initiative needs to be taken. We need change and we need it now! Go out and spread the message. Tell your friends, both online and off. Get people interested again. We can do it. 58953 posts and 3991 threads shouldn't go to waste. Let’s get back on track. PFF was my home for nearly two years. These people are like family even through we've never met face to face. I will take lead of the new PFF. Devotion and motivation will be needed. But together we can do it. PM the admins tell them your suggestions. Post them here. Make threads about them. Do what you can, even if it’s just one post a day or two. Now....WHOS WITH ME?

I try and tell people to post whats on their mind and what not but I'm seeing people on my MSN list and in the Petroglyph community turning into drones of society. Well not those forced to work but those who lack the creativity to live on or even create something and add it here.

 

Well this is only one of those rumors but if theres no activity boosts in awhile its going to close. I could link you to bex's forums where we can regroup and start over salvaging what we got but I'd rather PFF is kept alive.

 

Like I always say if you got anything on your mind just spill it don't bottle it up (unless its useless spam and picture wars). I posted and so have others but people are back on the sidelines again  ???. Oh and Petroglyph's community is mixed, its both rising and falling but the falling is more noticeable then the climb. We're unknown now or less known because people head over to PF. Other fan sites are struggling such as Petro-gamers.

Unfortunately, there's not much we can do.

Getting people to come here, they'd probably just leave since EaW/FoC is pretty much dead...well, there ARE the noob mod over at FileFrontForums, we don't want them.

 

Its branch and adapt or die. UaW isn't doing too well either...

 

Stats say the only threads that have been active in the past while are some fun threads in the bar, one or two mod threads in the EaW Modding section, and me and substance chatting in the anime section. Oh, there were also a few fan fictions

 

The regulars still come here, lets get something started before it ends.

I was up for supporting that, but I hadn't heard back from him whether he wanted to do it.

 

I can help you build it if you know what kind of site you want. But figuring out what you want to do, I leave those administration to someone else.

the problem is that one of the reasons we became so popular is that we were basically the forum the Dev's posted news on. people came for that, some stayed for what was and still is to some degree a very good community. but then went to their forums and even through they said they wouldn't just abandon the other forums, in the end they did. we have nothing to offer any body new any more except a good but dying community so no one else joins.

and while branching out is the key to surviving, if we do it wrong we will gain nothing and possible lose what we have. in the end i think we are fighting a losing war. but i will still support this forum to the very end

Well this is only my opinion and from what I see, I could be wrong but opinions are just theories after all . Petroglyph just getting arrogant too much and just because they worked on C&C, dune and whatever else they have they're slipping even as a new company. I think its because of Microsoft with its Halo/Xbox mindset it slipped to Petroglyph. All you could hear was halo and xbox constantly coming from Petro's side while we had Playstation arguments constantly while Petro played innocent with "knowledge". Also you know the game "Sins of the Solaris (or similar)? That game has a load free map that EAW and FoC could have accomplished where you just zoom in and out building units and sending them to the area. However this is from viewing the trailers so I could be wrong.  Not that I'm bashing Petro but EaW/FoC and now UaW are great games but it just smells of arrogance sometimes.

 

As a side note I'm glad how Petroglyph made their games and that good ideas were formed but I think they could have been more careful .

 

Well Back to the bex forums, well if PFF dies you going to go to PF or shall we save what was scuttled on Bex's server? If it is going to die I'd rather save whats left of it then have it burn. Ah well not that I want PFF dead but Petro got arrogant and outclassed by other games  :-\

Ok then we need more sections. Lets get away from EAW head toward C&C Kanes wrath or something like that. What admins are currently still "alive' around here?

We did try to expand last time, and it really didn't work. That shouldn't stop us from trying again though! The fan fiction section is doing better than it ever, if that's any consolation to anyone else. I just reinstalled EAW on my PC and it really is an entertaining game. I don't know quite why it died out so quickly.(rhetorical statement, please don't answer why). There are other games out there that are worth trying to support.

We definitely need to do something to save these forums. I remember the times when PFF was a bustling community, where everyone waited for the Devs to come on and tantalize us with tidbits of information. But now that EaW/FoC are fading into the dark, and UaW not doing really well, we definitely need to branch out and start talking not only about PC games, but all games on all platforms. Just start posting. PFF may die, but we should not let it die without trying to save it first.

not to be pushy or anything but uh maybe if a admin upgraded me to like a moderator or something. Not trying to use PFF's deathbed to get "power" but I have alot of spare time and nearly two months till any new  good xbox 360 games come out so i won't be doing nothing. I could help "clean up" the thread and remove/add some stuff. What do you say?

PFF Introduction center: The first section users go to. The section allows users to say hello and read over the general rules.

Petroglyph Games:

EAW contains the modding section in it and PFF clan area for EAW

UAW

Other PG games

General Gaming: Section allows users to post freely bout any non PG game PC or console

International Spaceport:

The bar

Fan fiction

Sci-fi/anime

 

 

So thought comments? opinons? No flaming please jut say so if you're upset that i left a section out.

It's content that draws people more than anything else. Yes we can have moderators and forums... but if there's nothing to talk about, its a mute point.

 

SWR survives because it is the (only) source for Rebellion modding.

If EaW still has a modding community, I could see people coming to PFF for that.

dead.

There's OMG, a few TC/PC's and a bunch of people that I'd rather not see here.

The current section is sufficient, but its just that noone posts.

I'm sorry, I'm partially to blame because I stopped updating my mod, so teh EaW Modding section is like silent now...

Lets open a few forum games and make a RP (star wars one, or whatever ). That should get some posting going. At least, it'd be more fun than the abysmal nothingness right now.

Fanfiction indeed has been doing well. I'll be posting a new one as well as soon as I get a good section started. I'm probably going to ditch the second one, it's not going the way I wanted.

EAW/FoC Modding ain't dead dead but we got the Creative Germans (SMG - Steiner Modding Group) still up and giving us special mods. Then we got OMG which I question everyday and PF whos intelligence I keep questioning every hour. Also we got a PG-DN (A German - English modding community) that helps people mod their games while helping others.

I think we ought to cut out the petro part. As much as we like petroglyph, with an official forum up and running at PF this place is basically useless. It's a ghost town.

 

There are numerous small fourms that nobody knows about and it's the lucky forums that have something like game devs or strong modding communities to keep them alive and make them popular.
