United Kingdom VS Russian Federation?

Well this is an issue of interest in the United Kingdom.

 

 

Background of events.

this occured in November 2006.

 

a ex soviet spy dies of a mysterious Radiation poisoning. - Alexander Litvinenko,

Litvinenko was an acclaimed critic of the Russian government, and had known ties to a outspoken Russian Journalist who opposed the Russian Government as well (and was discovered dead in October 2006.)link

during a British investigation of the man's movements up to his death revealed his identity, and that a Ex Soviet Spy Andrei Lugovoi, stand trial for his murder.

 

The Issue now.

 

Andrei Lugovoi, the Ex Spy, is wanted by the British justice system for the murder of Litvinenko, is being protected against extradition for trial. Link

Russia is accusing Britian of attempting to create a network of Spy within Russia. link Russia is now attempting to discover if this accusation has any foundation.link

 

 

This incident has escalated because the Uk has recently expelled 4 Russian Diplomats.lin k

 

the latest events that have occured is that Moscow have now warned Britian this expulsion has endagered Russian co operation in Anti Terror operations.

 

Also according to a Ex Russian Billionaire Berozovsky has claimed that the Uk Intelligence operatives have protected him for assination plots by Russian hit man.

 

This last issue is damaging more relations.

 

I'd like to know what others think of this my opinion is that the two governments are being petty, and that if the Andrei Lugovoi is guilty the Russian Government should release him for extradition.

 

However i also do not believe that the United Kingdom should release details of operatives in Russian as if the operatives are present in the country they will then be in danger if the information is leaked.

Hell, the missile defense won't be for Russia it will be to defend against NK and China attacks.

i wouldn't be so sure. there is alot of problems from the Russian Federation. As well as North Korea.

 

Plus why would Bush want a Missile defense system in Poland? Who would that protect that is in the Americans interest? China/North Korea can use Cuba and South America as a launch base although this is not required.

 

But as far as i know there has been no response as of yet to the latest developments in the UK vs Russia issueThe Lastest development is that the Russians have dismissed British Staff in Russia.

I think Putant should just be impeached because he seems to like to start trouble with other coutries, but to be on topic i agree with you he should just be extradited to the U.K., if hes guilty of course

well the thing is, there is every suspision that some, perhaps quite senior people within the russian govenment were involved in the death of Litvinenko, I mean, it wasn't exactly a cheap, or crude method of killing someone, to use harmful nuclear radiation from a such a rare source means more than one person was involved.

 

Russia is rapidly recovering from the fall of the soviet union, it may not be a super power as such, but as it controls a great deal of oil and territory, it hardly lacks potential. While China is potentially a more obveious and imminent threat, Russia doesn't seem to be afraid to flex it's muscles.

If your gonna do that to Russia then do the same to the Americans for starting a pointless Religious and resource war. People contradicting themselves too much and I'm finally glad Europe is using Euro Fighters finally as defensive planes. Guys read in any news paper that Russia tried to build a missile that changes course in mid flight that it would pass through the missile shield?

oh please  : here we go with the "american government is crap" thing again... Ive seen it on too many forums and it mostly comes from people who don't know a thing about government and politics. It's mostly "OMG! bush suckz". Mr. Bush may be a bit lacking in some areas but insofar he is doing all right. I think he took it to far with Iraq but other than that what would you have done differnt?

If I was a country I would remain neutral and do my own thing yes, but on a global level allying yourself with the top dog is a good idea for obvious reasons.

 

And this is my personnal opinion but russia is a greather threat than china. Yes china has more resources and whatnot but China would never sever ties with the US and its allies due to the trade. Most of our stuff is manufactured in China and I think it would be worse for them if we stopped buying stuff from them.

Some might already know this who keep up but I just found this out just a few days ago and found it interesting.

 

Also whats Germany doing in the battlefield. I thought the Treaty from WW2 should of restricted their military movements unless I didn't read some recent treaty allowing them to mobilize out of their own nation. ??? I've been asking this same question ever since 2004ish and never got a straight answer even when coming across it. Corruption leaking through or something?

all the recent wars in the middle east can be atributted to one event... At the end of WWI when the allies broke up the ottoman empire. Since then it's just been madness down there. The middle east is the last religious place on earth. Everyone else on the planet has moved on but the middle east is the last place where the people are totally devoted to thier religion. And that means that we don't always agree with them.

 

As for germany... I don't know much but I'd assume that if they're doing any millitary stuff it will most likely be acting as part of the European Union.
