Need a tutorial on how to modify FOC

I think the title says everything, I couldn't find any proper tut anywhere. I tried to exctract meg files and modify them but as I change things they don't apply in the game. BTW, I have a german version and put up an english update on it so it tirned to be an english version.

I have no idea how to even add a heero in. I tried and nothing happened

1. Modding EaW and FoC is almost the same.

 

2. If you want to add a hero:

 

- add your hero to NamedHeroUnits.xml, Herocompanies.xml, if it uses a Unique Unit add this Unit to UniqueUnits.xml

 

- type in Story_Sandbox_[gcname]_[faction name].xml where your hero should spawn
