it celebrates....... uh... either one of two things: I don't remember which

1) When the colonists declared independence from the big evil british empire

or

2) when the colonists actually beat the big evil british empire and established the USA

the fireworks are remiscnet of cannons and explosions going off during those battles

First one. Declared Independence from the Colonies and created their own little (now big) country. Canada then formed its own little nation and we got July 1st and July 4th.  ::) One right after the other its almost funny.

Well in other news some American prankster (now arrested and charged) decided to be stupid and kill 1 or 2 people by lighting a fireworks in a tent.

lol

the worst fire work incident Ive heard of was in Georgia. Where some teenagers shot a bottlerocket into an open window of a semi truck that was passing on the road. That made the driver overturn the truck on it's side. Then the teenagers went down there. Beat up the driver and took his wallet  :o

wow that's funny. and kinda stupid.

Why do all that just to get a wallet?

Ghostly, it will always be this way:

"Freedom isn't free" - My moms bumper sticker.

"The leading cause of death among fashion models is falling through street grates" - Dave Barry.
