Kodor Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 Hey all, I'm having some brainstorming on some possible uses for the corruption system. Can anyone enlighten me on the files I need to look at to edit the corruption system? Can the empire, rebels, other factions be given access to corruption missions and can the missions be customized? I've got some great ideas and if I can get them done It would make a nice minimod. BTW are there any mods out there using customizations to the corruption system? Thanks
Guest Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 eh. good idea. The basics for the corruption data is in planets.xml To make a custom one you'll have to create new text entries and/or a new map.

You'll have to make the corruption missions generich so that all the factions you want to use them will be ok doing the actual missions. Plus, you can't have one faction's corruption and another faction's corruption, there's just corruption. It would be best to just leave Zann with Corruption, or maybe give a new faction corruption. You can change the name, icon, and description of a corruption type, as well as modify it's existing parameters, but you can't make entirely new corruptions types or totally remove old ones. You've got to make the faction a 'corrupt' faction. Paste the corruption lines from the ZC data in your faction's data. They will corrupt any planet they conquer. For anyone searching the forums a file called blobmaterials.xml, or something similer, defines all the selection and highlight materials. That's where the .tga files used in each are listed. Thanks for the post though.

Btw, i think i found out how to disable corruption. You take the generic corruption upgrade effects part in factions xml and comment that out. i havent tested it yet thought but try that

vaders_Legion Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 theoretically yes, theres this line in the empire and rebel factions Generic_Intimidation_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Piracy_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Kidnapping_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Racketeering_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Corrupt_Militia_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Bribery_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Black_Market_Corruption_Upgrade, Generic_Bonded_Citizens_Corruption_Upgrade, Try commenting out the generic stuff and see what that does. I havent tested that yet though
