Grand Admiral Thrawn 889 Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Well you can tell this Thread is about Death Note and Japanese Anime which i believe is available as a Series on the internet and also in the form of a Manga book, I'm told that there is a TV series to be released of Death Note, as well as there being a Death Note film. I have known about Death Note for months now but have only recently taken the time to sit down and watch any of the episodes in depth. So i thought i might create somewhere that we can talk about the series. Main Characters are L, Yagami-Light, Yagami-san, Misa-Misa. It has been set in Tokyo, Japan. It is about a Death Note and Death Gods. Watch it here... And if you want anymore information watch it and then discuss it... Substance-san i known you'll love talking here. http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n292/Admiral_Antilles/Thrawncopy.jpghttp://img525.imageshack.us/img525/3269/pffuserbar2globalmodnx9.jpg I Support the Resistance!
Ghostly_Substance Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 (edited) Facts:- Theres so far 11 Manga- a 37 Episode series- 2 Live action movies (Death Note & Death Note The Last Name)- Yes there will be an english dub version of Death Note but be warned the dubs are tolerable but not the best (except for L). More basic facts:- When you write a person's name in the book the person will die in 40 seconds.- Light is Kira and he has the book owner Ryuuk who follows Light who is now the book holder. - Ryuuk is addicted to Apples- Misa is one messed up girl in the anime and a serious girl in the movie. Question:This anime also has some questions that its trying to answer while it tells its story. Heres a few questions I came across. 1) What is Justice?2) Can one person really judge all? 3) Is it all right to mass murder criminals who are going to die anyways (China, Japan law)? 4) Once the police gets the cause of the murders is it alright to use criminals to find out how the book works (i.e Kill them)? Droid803 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Be warned the anime is VERY boring...its like reading subtitles...all of it...no action, really, so you're better off reading the manga. At least that's what I figured. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v423/kc1991/droid803sig.jpg"That was fun"
Mikan Cyclone Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 I sticked to reading the manga and watching the movies. The actor for L in the movies....was...AMAZING. Captured L perfectly. http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/loverdog/pffuserbar1.jpghttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i276/At-At_controller/leetspeak4cz1jr.gif

I say otherwise. Anime is what got me to get the manga and watch the movie. No Action? *throws tomato's at D803*. Thats why you only stick to watchin Haruhi Suzumia (I know I typoed now for some weird reason) while I watched over 90 anime series I'm still waiting for my Death Note part 4 and Claymore part 3 to come in damn it. edit: I hate guests who don't help out this forums. Anyways I thought Death Note skipped a beat between episodes 20-30 but it still has the ball rolling intelligently. Perfect. Ghostly_Substance Posted October 23, 2007 Posted October 23, 2007 Wow guys its sure silent here that I have to double post. This ship is still afloat but activity is very low ??? . Anyways theres this American movie called "Devils Diary" and its based on the anime Death Note. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ry22ppRWwdo Um? Death Note you write in name of the person as long as you seen his/her face and know his/her name. Secondly the Shinigami turned into a innocent priest. Americans lacking creativity yet again? This is why I'm pushing the idea of being creative not lacking creativity. -One Empire falls another riseshttp://myanimelist.net/signature/EuroSubstance.png http://miniprofile.xfire.com/bg/os/type/2/ghostlysubstance.png

Ghostly_Substance Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Just seen the Death Note special and I must say its a pretty good recap of the original show. I like the new scenes they added including remixed opening music used in the show.
